Baby was the only choice at multiplexes this weekend as all new releases proved to failed to get a decent initial at the box office. However, even without any competition from other releases, Baby had yet another sharp fall.
The film collected Rs 2.85 crore on its 2nd Friday to take its lifetime total to Rs 66.7 crore net. Since Baby has been performing well at multiplexes, the second Saturday business of the film could be in the 4-5 crore range.
The distributors share in 8 days is around 32 crore, so the film still has a long way to go before it can recover costs.

I know that SWADES was a Masterpiece and is one of the best bollywood films ever made & also one of my favourites……..but did not earn that much what it deserved (same like Baby)

Feel sad for Akki Sir but feel this is a self inflicted wound…. He needs to promote his films to some extent as any pro bharat movie should do well but not promoting it entensively across India has damaged the films business…. I dont understand why producers didnt promote this film as even in the UK the trailer wasnt frequently aired in comparison to craps like Tevar which was on regularly like a month pre release…! Deserved better producers IMO
today hollywood release films in india show better occupancy in theaters then hindi release, last year many hollywood films collect more then 40 crore net in india and films like transformer and spiderman collect more then 50 and 60 crore in lesser screens.
