An exhibitor recently told us “The top 3 or 4 stars rely on holiday weekends to release their films and prefer doing just one film a year, but we survive because of Akshay Kumar”
He gives 60 days per film, doesn’t shoot during weekends, prefers shooting for just 8 hours a day and completes his film on time. This gives him enough time to release 3 or 4 films a year, his fans always have something new to look forward to and he earns more than most other actors in the country. He doesn’t care about the number game either!

a movie should have a recall value, that is missing nowadays, even if a movie like chennai express, kick or singham returns are blockbusters, there is no recall value. I bet if on television if andaz apna apna, hera pheri or anand are shown and at the same time craps like chennai express, kick and singham returns are shown, 99% of the people would watch the former. Neeraj pandey is one of those directors whose movies have that recall value that instantly makes you connect to the movie. Hope BABY also promises that.
