Q. When is the Eid, Sunday or Monday?

A. The official government holiday for Eid is on Monday.

Q. What are the inside reports for Tubelight?

A. The pre-release reports are fair. We’ll have to wait until atleast tomorrow evening to get the real picture.

Q. If Salman Khan manages to score another huge Blockbuster with Tubelight, where will that put Salman Khan in the all time list considering it’s a movie away from his regular image?

A. Salman has already achieved almost everything that there is to achieve in the industry, but in terms of opening and lifetime ‘Tubelight’ could be his biggest test during the Eid period. Neither the teaser nor the trailer have received the kind of response that some of his previous Eid releases have. There’s good reason for that too. Tubelight simply does not have those ingredients. It doesn’t have Salman in one of those larger-than-life roles, it doesn’t have a mainstream female star, nor is it high on massy action. The music album also lacks that outright chartbuster that some of Salman’s Eid releases have had. With Tubelight, we only have two selling factors – Salman Khan himself and the credibility that the film carries because it’s been directed by Kabir Khan.

Q. Indicine don’t you think Salman Khan should stop releasing his trailer on Star channel? View on youtube decreases due to release of promo in TV.

A. Such things don’t matter at all. Youtube records hold little or no value, it makes zero difference at the box office. What matters the most is letting maximum number of people know that a Salman Khan film called ‘Tubelight’ is releasing in theatres during Eid and airing trailer on Star Network of channels ensures that it gets plenty of eyeballs.

The only thing that matters at the end of it all is how a film fares at the box office, whether the investors have recovered money and made profits. Collections also indicate whether people have liked the film or not and those are the only reasons why most films are made. No one cares about Youtube records if a film fails at the box office.

Q. How much will ‘Tubelight’ collect at India BO and overseas BO?

A. Prior to release we can only talk about expectations. The trade ‘expects’ Tubelight to collect upwards of 300 crore. Overseas, $25million plus.

Q. Tubelight buzz compared to other movies like Sultan, Bajrangi Bhaijaan?

A. Out of the films you mentioned, the order from highest to lowest buzz would be Sultan, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Tubelight. That doesn’t mean the interest is low. It’s only when compared to more commercial looking Salman films does the hype around Tubelight seem less than what we’ve come to expect over the years.

Q. Can Tubelight challenge highest single day? collection?

A. It won’t be anywhere close to some of the highest single-day collections.

Q. Teaser reaction of Baadshaho? Best possible total gross with huge acceptance by the audiences.

A. The response to the teaser of Baadshaho is very good. The best in recent times after Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.

Q. Total Number of Screen worldwide for Tubelight?

A. Approx 4300 screens in India and 1000+ screens overseas.

Q. In my city Bhubaneswar, Tubelight is not showing such high advance booking like other movies of Salman Khan do. Is this the condition in other major circuits of India?

A. The advance booking is ‘above average’. Not extraordinary like Sultan last year. Spot-booking has to be good tomorrow if the film has record excellent opening day numbers.
