Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is known to be a film-buff, has praised Sonam Kapoor’s Neerja as one of the best films that he has seen in the recent past.

He is pointing out at a religion which is the 2nd most followed religion in the world after Christianity. If there was something wrong with Islam, logically half of the world would have been destroyed by now, also if I see some RSS goon beating up people shouting ‘Jai Shree Ram’, I won’t go around blaming Hinduism for that. But let it be, those are his views, I hope they change for better.

At everyone else.. I am an atheist, don’t really believe in religion or even god.. But having read so many things about Islam, the way they treat their women, the way everything is forced upon you, with a god that scares you more than loves you.. I dislike the preachings of the religion.
Why would god force his so-called creations to pray for him? If I was someone so powerful, it would be silly for me to except my own creations to pray or me.. otherwise I will punish them in after life. LOL.
I liked what Raju Hirani said in PK. My understanding of it is.. There could be a god, but he sure isn’t the way we have made him to be. Aliens who have real knowledge, or gained the power to see different dimensions.. may be laughing at us.

@Kaali.. if there was one or two incidents with people killing shouting ‘Allah Hu Akbar’ I wouldn’t take it seriously.
But there have been countless incidents now. I have seen videos of people throwing innocent people from hills shouting allah hu akbar.. helicopters are shot by bombs shouting allah hu akbar.. Paris attacks they said the same before killing. It has been happening way too frequently and all over the world.
Almost all terrorists are muslims and they are fighting and killing in the name of religion. They are quoting verses from Quran and if you read it.. there are some scary verses which can be interpreted in different ways.
Personally.. even though I am a non-believer, I am happy to be born a Hindu. Religion and God is not forced upon us.. we can lead free lives.. not be scared of god.. have a open mind and just do whatever WE want to.

Thanks for the kind words. I won’t call myself an atheist, but I would consider myself as a deist. Someone who believes if there is a God, we will never be able to find it out. I liked what you said in your last paragraph. Precisely what PK was all about!
About Islam, see I can’t be as straight forward like you, but yes, I have read Balaji Vishwanathan’s answers about ‘Whether Islamic rulers in 15th & 16th century barbaric or not. ‘ He said, till Aurangzeb they were secular cool dudes, then came this evil monster & started the fight for swaraj from various Hindus after he forcefully started converting Hindus to Islam. I won’t generalize but there’s not everything as ‘rosy’ about this religion as people paint it particularly in India.
Another interesting dimension about religion was provided by Veer Savarkar (an atheist himself) who said, more people prefer to follow their ‘beliefs’ compared to national interests. Consider a guy of religion x living in India. If that religion is a minority in India & the origin of that religion ain’t India, but some other country, in moments of extreme crisis (by extreme I mean really extreme) where conflict arises between national interest or belief system, more ppl will follow their religion & belief than national interest.
