Anupam-Satish sign a deal with UTV

UTV Motion pictures signs another deal. Anupam Kher along with Satish Kaushik has formed a company, Karol Baug Productions. They have signed a major deal with UTV Motion Pictures and will make four films every year, out of which Anupam and Satish will direct one film each while the other two films will be directed by independent directors.

UTV Motion Pictures Sr.Vice President, Ram Mirchandani says, “Anupam has worked with us earlier and when heard about his and Kaushik’s production house we decided to join hands. We will go with the vision of these two creative people and so there is no fixed budget. Also we are looking for fresh talents from Anupan Kher’s acting academy.”

Anupam Kher says, “It’s a fair deal. Films like Dor, Khosla Ka Ghosla, Metro and Bheja Fry did well because of excellent scripts. It is a four-film per year deal and we will be making 40 films in 10 years. We needed a big giant like UTV to support us in our vision and creativity.”

‘Dosti’ is the title of Anupam’s first film in collaboration with UTV. Anupam adds, “This film was supposed to be made by Neeraj Pande and he had sent me the script as he wanted to cast some people from my academy. After reading the script, I thought that this is the film I wanted to make. When I approached, he was more than happy to let me direct the film, as i have worked with him before.”
