Bollywood stars Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar, as well as ace India cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni have made it to the Forbes annual Celebrity 100 rankings of the world’s highest-paid celebrities.
Both Bachchan and Salman share the 71st rank with earnings of $33.5 million each, while Akshay with $32.5 million is placed 76th. Dhoni with $31 million is ranked 82nd.
This year’s list ranks the world’s 100 highest-paid celebrities, regardless of nationality.
American professional boxer Floyd Mayweather tops the list with $300 million in earnings, followed by Filipino iconic boxer Manny Pacquiao ($160 million).
Singer Katy Perry ($135 million), who is ranked no.3 on the list has been featured on the Forbes magazine cover.
Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, 72, the magazine noted, has starred in more than 150 movies in his 50-year career and continues to earn top rupee for his roles in flicks such 2014’s ‘Bhoothnath Returns’.
One of India’s biggest stars, Salman Khan, 49, has appeared in some 80 movies since his 1989 breakout role in ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’. He also appears on the small screen, hosting reality show ‘Bigg Boss’..
Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has appeared in some 150 movies since his 1992 breakthrough in ‘Khiladi’. He earned top rupee for roles in 2014 movies such as ‘Holiday’ and ‘Entertainment’.
Dhoni, who retired from Test cricket at the end of 2014, led India to the semi-final of the 2015 Cricket World Cup before suffering a loss to eventual champion Australia. He is co-producing an upcoming biopic titled ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’.

as a die hard akki fan I have to accept he has lost his strength at the box office, maybe he did not deliver highest grossers per because when he was at his strength he did not get big festive release but having big grossers in top 3 like mohra, mujshe shaadi karogi, welcome, singh is king, houseful, rowdy rathore, those movies proved his big strength at the box office but with bad films and constant anti media campaign, people got put of by him and now he can’t manage the kind of opening he used to give previously, his good films are being neglected by his fans which is sad, or maybe he’s too old and doesn’t look hot anymore I don’t know, I just hope he gets something big out brothers, and what better than getting big success in serious films like brothers.
btw indicine can you draw a comparison between akshay, vidyut jamwal and tiger Shroff, that would be interesting as it hasn’t been done before.
Agree you can’t say akshay needs certain heroine or directors to giv hit. He has rised up with the unknown camp and got to the big league. What he needs is he needs to be smart, cut down on number of releases and reinvent himself. Vipul sha, pridarshan, Abbas mustan, sajid khan ect were not big names. Also film baby or s26 can’t be termed multistarrer, he was the sole hero protagonist of baby and s26 and rest were supporting his character. Multistarrer means when there is more than 1 hero in the film, like houseful series

@sheeraz if we take all those out still king aamir khan rules box office. I think you have no idea about Box office storm called Taare zameen par which was directed by aamir khan himself and was blockbuster despite clashing with multistarrer movie. That’s aamir power. Lagaan despite clash with commercial masala movie gaddar also was super hit, and it had no raju hirani, remake or brand factor. So shut your mouth.

after special 26, holiday, baby, gabbar and now brothers, akshay is no longer a fulltime comedian and he has returned back to varying genres that he was doing from 1999 to 2006. from action king to comedy king, now to drama king

Today producers can earn good money from satellite rights too of a movie nd Akshays movie Always Gets good TRP nd the rights solds in High amount of money so I don’t think any producers might hve face loss on akshays movies ..!

It’s first hAlf was really slow nd boring , if 1st half would hve been as entertaining as 2nd half then surely 100 plus … nd 150 might not hve been possible cos it was not a holidy release ..! A big sequel like dabang 2 collected only 160 on Christmas so how can Gabbar May hve collect 150 ..! U need atleast one big holiday .

these Factors Took away Some crores from Gabbar otherwise 120 might hve been achieve if it has better release date nd Good 1st half ..!
