Megastar Amitabh Bachchan will be honoured with the Global Diversity Award in Delhi Wednesday.
The 70-year-old will also take a tour around the parliament house.
“Tomorrow (Wednesday) there is more activity and honour coming my way, by meeting up with the Speaker of the Parliament and to be taken around to the most private and secure parts of the structure, ending in presenting me with the Global Diversity Award…so humbling,” he posted on his blog.
Amitabh was honoured with the Padma Shri in 1984 and the Padma Bhushan in 2001. In July 1999, he was named the ‘Greatest Star of stage or screen of the Millennium’ by a BBC online poll.
The actor has appeared in over 180 films and was honoured with France’s highest civilian honour, the Knight of the Legion of Honour, by the French government in 2007, for his exceptional career in the world of cinema and beyond.
His wax statue was modelled in London’s Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, in 2000. Another statue was installed in New York in 2009, Hong Kong in 2011, Bangkok in 2011 and Washington, DC in 2012.
In 2003, he was conferred with the Honorary Citizenship of the French town of Deauville.
In July 2012, Amitabh carried the Olympic torch during the last leg of its relay in London’s Southwark.
