It was recently revealed that Amitabh Bachchan could have been the villain of the mega-budget film Robot 2.0, but eventually he opted out of it. And it was not because of any date issues or creative differences but because Rajnikant himself told him to not be a part of it.
Amitabh Bachchan said that the director of the film, Shankar had offered him the role of the villain but when Big B asked Rajnikant’s advise he stopped him. Big B said ”Shankar had come to me and he wanted me to play the villain (in Robot 2.0). I called Rajini. He said ‘people will not accept you as a villain, so don’t do it’. I said okay.”
Bachchan also spoke about another rumour of his presence in Dhoom 4.
A source had initially said “At the moment it is not very clear where Victor is going with this. All that is confirmed is that Aditya Chopra and Victor have approached and signed Mr Bachchan and Hrithik”
But when Amitabh was asked the same, he said “I have heard it for the first time”

My 1st choice for D4 will be Salman khan. If not Salman then it must be Hrithik.
Hrithik will make it better than any other actor but Salman will make it bigger than any other will do. So it’s Yrf choice whether they want to make it bigger or better.
I THINK audience Will no accept akky in a negative role ( like once upon a time in Mumbai dobara) by i Hope Im Wrong.

I don’t think you put the words of Rajni correctly here…I guess it was more like “It will be hard for people to digest a man in your stature doing a villain role”.
But reading this article makes one think that Shankar offered him the role and Rajni spoiled it.
Indicine i guess big b was offrred the role in robot 1 not in robot 2..as i have read about it today itself sk please confirm it..

YRF signing more and more films with Salman Khan and Aamir Khan instead of small stars like Srk ?… I don’t think YRF will take the risk of casting Srk in Dhoom 4… Even if they caste Srk in Dhoom 4 then movie not even do half of what Dhoom 3 did on box-office… Reason Srk’s stardom ?
And for hrithik roshan even baccha-baccha knows every next installment of Dhoom series have new face as a villain… so they (YRF) r not making fool of themselves by taking Hrithik again
But we want to see some changes in next Dhoom installment ?

@TheBeast You are right in saying each Dhoom movie had a new villain…however it is worth noting that of all the 3 Dhoom movies only Hrithik’s character ‘Mr.A’ didn’t die in the climax. Obviously who else will play villain if not a fading Superstar whose movies cannot even gross minimum benchmark while others are doing it even with clashes. Akshay is a flop actor that is the fact his loyal fan bases and his ever ready to act antics are just the reason for his limelight. when you look at his contemporaries like Srk Salman Aamir Ajay do you think any of them will accept this role probably only Srk and Salman and just Rajni Sir not for trying to recover from a fallen position. @Thug: thanks bro… firstly I think in the same manner as of u but then I feel that this time YRF should cast some other superstar bcoz there are rumerous flowing from here and there about the villain character some are saying Salman, some saying Hrithik, some saying Srk while some even assume Prabhas as villain… It is such a please to watch Salman bhai and Hrithik as a villain in D4 but not that haklu Srk !!!!!!!!!
