Akshay Kumar – Some unknown facts

Akshay Kumar’s Real Name – Rajeev Hari Om Bhatia

Akshay Kumar did all types of odd jobs before he came in to the film industry. He even worked in Kolkata as a peon for a travel agency for a year and a half. One of his friends suggested modelling. Once in the field, he changed his name from Rajeev Hari Om Bhatia to Akshay Kumar.

First movie Akshay Kumar signed – Deedar

Even though his first released movie was Saughand, he first signed Deedar. Akshay was the original choice for Phool Aur Kante but since he had given dates for Deedar, Phool Aur Kante went to Ajay Devgan.

Akshay and Ajay Devgan would both practice stunts with Ajay Devgan’s father, Veeru Devgan. While Akshay was early, Ajay was a latecomer.

Akshay Kumar worked as a chef in Bangkok

Akshay Kumar’s father promised to send his to Bangkok for martial arts training provided he secured a first class in his board exams. Akshay secured 63 percent and got a ticket to Bangkok. Once there his uncle got him job at Metro Guest House where his first salary was 1000 baht (Rs 1,500). At night he would sleep in the kitchen.

Akshay Kumar married actress Twinkle Khanna in the year 2002.

Akshay was known for his Casanova image before his marriage and his affairs with Raveena Tandon and Shilpa Shetty was well known. Until 2001 when he got married to Twinkle Khanna. In 2002 they were blessed with baby boy, Aarav.

Akshay Kumar’s next movie with Deepika Padukone is ‘Made in China’

The movie is Made In China. It is produced by Warner Brothers and Rohan Sippy. Nikhil Advani is the director. Currently Akshay and Deepika are training in the Wushu form of martial arts. Shooting for the movie will commence from January 2008 to May 2008 in Shanghai, Beijing and a village in China.
