Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has signed the Hindi remake of A.R. Murugadoss’ 2014 film ’Kaththi’, which featured Tamil superstar Vijay and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead.
The film will be produced by Lyca Production and A.R. Murugadoss. It will mark the directorial debut of Jagan.
“Lyca Productions and A.R. Murugadoss will jointly produce the remake, which will be directed by debutant Jagan” a source close to Murugadoss confirmed.
‘Kaththi’ featured Vijay in a double role. The shoot of the Hindi version is expected to begin in April 2016.
This will be the second time Akshay will star in the remake of Vijay’s film. He previously worked in the ‘Thuppaki’ remake, which was titled ”Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty” in Hindi.

Honestly what I heard from an article one of Akkis spot boy said Akshay spends most of his time on his laptop anytime he is free from shooting and that 70% of time he spends on his laptop is browsing searching all possible remakes from kannada telugu and malyalam big movies ,reads the story and immediately rings his producers. For those saying producers are lining up to sign him is not true. He is a big actor ,has money to sponsor esp Twinkle being producers of most of his movies , he then meets any producer and file down his propasals. Nothing against Akki just that pissing fans of his slams Srk of recent barring their always no.1 and 2 targets Salman and Ajay,now it’s even Srk which I can’t take. Nevertheless let him do the movies I just wished he had something like taste class and selectivity in his dictionary. These days it’s not the number of movies you do,it is the number of quality result oriented grossers your fan idol does. That’s whyyou see most of his contemporaries actors always on top of most all time records ,you find his Akki name if lucky way down with the new generation actors or you don’t even see his names but you always see Srk Salman Aamir Hritik Ajay names top all time this ,top all time that,highest this highest that but even RK tops Akki in most categories. Reason is simple. Akshay is lacks strategic forsights for making effort to enter the big leagues simple. Nothing more to say I wul just say Good luck but be smarter and risk conscious.

Best Southside remake character role played by Akshay was when he chose to play the 2nd lead in Insaan in which he potrayed the role of our own baddie Prakash Raaj? Akshay played the same role Prakash raaj played in That movie 2years earlier. Jeez I was stunned¤ Not his fault that’s the power of being paid handsome package for any kind of role be it Jagdeep Asrani or Avtar Gill characters.

Loving this news, people will not agree but south gives better content movies than bollywood and best bollywood movies are south remakes now-a-days with a few exceptions..(Bajrangi Bhaijaan,Baby,etc..)
Kya line up h boss..akki doing just one comedy movie with several other great films as usual but this tym that is hf3 so it will be huge..and others looks really promising so looking for a gr8 yr ahead for akki..next yr seems really interesting for all the superstars..
I have never been against remakes provided the script is a good one.
Hollywood remakes so many movies from different origins and we embrace them without ever questioning but when it comes to bollywood people start behaving as if remaking a movie is some crime.
I made my Dad saw Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam and he loved it completely.He said,he had’nt watched a better movie than this in quite a while.So Drishyam was’nt remade,there was no means by which the audience in the hindi belt would have caught such a terrific film.
If there is a good story which can be told to a bigger audience if remade in another language,then why not?

akshay fans always say his next film is going to earn 150crs+ but ends up earning only 80crs at best (which is an improvement from his usual 60crs). his best bet at the box office was brothers and that flopped bad so i dont see any other akshay kumar movies that look like they are going to cross even 100crs.
I don’t watch South movies .
But some of them are really good for remake in hindi such as ghajni . Holiday. Rowdy Rathore. Wanted . And much more
But a friend told me that khaththi is a typical south movie targeting only south audience farmers ….etc
And it might not be suitable for remake in hindi

@ajay rocks you forgot to mention films like toonpur ka superhero, himmatwala, tezz, action jackson, rascals, aakrosh, and dil to bacha hai ji they were all below 50 crores ROFL…. even good film like drishyam failed to touch 80 crores it only did business of 75 crores and was average grosser…. so b4 downgrading akki take a close look at ajay first and his collections b4 pointing ur finger at akki… i have nothing against ajay but a fool like u gave me no choice and also no body said anything abt ajay so why are u creating unnecessary fan wars get a life u loser….
