Rohit Shetty made his directorial debut with the Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Zameen’ more than a decade ago in 2003. Since then, the two have worked together in 9 films. In fact, Rohit has only directed two films that did not feature Ajay and both of those (Chennai Express, Dilwale) featured Shah Rukh Khan in the lead.
Now with reports that all is not well between Shetty and SRK after their 2015 Christmas release ‘Dilwale’ failed to beat the competition, Rohit returns to work with Ajay in the fourth Golmaal film.
Talking about the relationship he shares with Ajay, Shetty said “‘I know Ajay is one guy who will stand by me whenever I need him. Sanju (Sanjay Dutt) is another. I love them. I know Ajay since the last 26 years. With him, even if there’s some work to be done, if I tell his staff or my staff, I know it will happen, so I don’t worry. That understanding is there between us. There is an unspoken understanding between us.”
Shetty also spoke about his other friends in the industry “Some of them are not from the film industry. There’s Prasad, Amrish and Bhaskar, who are all in different professions and they are all my childhood friends since my school days in Dahisar, where I used to stay with my grandmother. I met them when I was 10 years old and have been friends since.”
”People feel that when one achieves fame, one leaves the past behind. With me, it has never happened that way. These guys have been with me since the last 33 years and nothing has changed between us in that time. I didn’t leave my roots behind and carry forward different people who came into my life” he added.

Equation is simple.
Starting with CE, SRK exhausted the Masala genre with back-to-back three masala movies which eventually ended with Dilwale and later he realized that he dwelled way too much into this genre.
And now, he has decided not to do any masala movies so obviously there is no need of his re-association with Rohit.
And those, who are calling SRK selfish, Rohit was just a director and he was paid heavily both for Dilwale as well as CE. So he didn’t do any favor when he directed SRK.
Moreover, if Rohit was the solo reason for the success of CE, then why didn’t his previous movies cross 150 cr (let alone 200 cr marks) ?
You haters are nothing else but double standard ki dukaan.

We have to be honest, Dilwale was a pathetic film and even without clash it would have under-performed because of Rohit bad direction. Singham Returns was a major disappointment too. Let’s hope that Shetty gets back to good entertainers…
