Akshay Kumar’s Airlift has surpassed the 4-year-old record of Hrithik Roshan’s Agneepath to become the highest grossing January film of all time in Bollywood.
January isn’t the best month to release films and most releases in the first month of the year, have failed to recover costs. Airlift is probably the first big success of January after Agneepath.

Niche movie beating a record of a film which was remake of Big B’s blockbuster movie. That’s great, finally public started to appreciate good movie. Well this is indeed a very good news, this will help filmmakers to create more such scripts than the senseless masala ones. Happy for Bollywood.

It doesn’t make sense, airlift budget Is less than rowdy rathore, despite coming close to rr, rr is classified as blockbuster and airlift is termed superhit, for a niche film it did more than big budget films.

in spite of c-grade story & direction,a new comer as female lead,no chartbusting song, movie being leaked on internet before releasing and virtually a normal weekend(remember 26th Jan. fell on Sunday in 2014), ‘Jai Ho’ grossed around 112 crores…this is called true super stardom!!!
