Airlift has collected Rs 19.26 crore in its second weekend at the box office. It has crossed the 100 crore mark, becoming only the 4th hundred crore Akshay Kumar film after Rowdy Rathore, Housefull 2 and Holiday: A Solider Is Never Off Duty.
The second weekend of Airlift was better than this week’s release Mastizaade. The film will continue to be the first choice for the multiplex audience this week. Sunny Deol’s Ghayal Once Again releases this weekend and that film is unlikely to affect the business of Airlift at high-end multiplexes.

A lot of people have asked if Airlift can go on to be Akshay’s highest grosser to date. At the end of 10 days (i.e second weekend), Housefull 2 had collected 84.3 crore and the second weekend of the film was quite similar to Airlift. Rowdy Rathore had collected exactly 100 crore at the end of its 2nd weekend, Airlift is ahead by a couple of crores, but Rowdy had better trends and had collected Rs 10.5 crore on its second Sunday. Holiday had collected Rs 86.73 crore in 10 days.
In short, Airlift is ahead of all other Akshay Kumar films at the end of the second weekend.
As for collections ‘after’ the second weekend, Rowdy Rathore collected Rs 34 crore, Housefull 2 collected Rs 31.7 crore and Holiday collected Rs 26.27 crore. Airlift needs to collect as much as Housefull 2 did after its second weekend to surpass the business of Rowdy Rathore.

For a movie to be universally acclaimed it needs support from both masses and classes….
Airlift is getting tremendous support from multiplexes but can’t say the same thing for single screens… A 19+ second weekend could have been easily a 25-27 had the single screens supported it the same way…..!!!! I hope u now understood the word “universally acclaimed” means…
And by the way Airlift crossed Drishyam lifetime total in flat five days (both the movies targeting multiplexes only)…

Somewhat agree with @Sunny Chechi..The WOM is’nt extraordinary as many are saying an even indicine clarified yesterday that the WOM is positive and not extremely positive.
Films which had extraordinary WOM are – Bajrangi bhaijaan,BM,TWMR,Baahubali
Mainly bcoz the pace is’nt consistent throughout the film,i saw any people taking their phones out and reading whatsapp msgs in the 1st half,many people yawning which clearly indicates that the film was’nt gripping.However the 2nd half was excellent,well paced!
I was not sure whether it will do 100 or not after watching but was sure after seeing positive reviews and positivity on social networking sites…good

TWMR was also worked only on multiplex, still managed to surpass 150cr. Airlift got much better reviews than TWMR. If Akki is really a bigger star than Kangna then airlift will surely cross 150cr mark…!!!

I predicted AIRLIFT 2nd BO weekend numbers between 18-19 crores. This is very close.
Over all AIRLIFT lifetime BO collection will be between 112-114 crores.
Which is well short of ROWDY RATHODE.
