Agent Vinod releases today on 2200 screens all over India. It’s the widest release for a Saif Ali Khan film, and if it manages to beat the opening day collections of Love Aaj Kal, it would also be his biggest opener.
The trailers were good and the music has done reasonably well. The advance booking too opened to a decent response at multiplexes earlier this week. The number of shows though, is lower than biggies like Don 2 and Agneepath.
We except the opening numbers to be similar to Love Aaj Kal (8 crore). The rest would then depend on the content. Below is our prediction.
IF GOOD (positive word-of-mouth)
- Weekend – 28 crore
- Weekdays – 12 crore
- Week 1 Total – 42 crores
- Final – 70 crore+
IF AVERAGE (mixed word-of-mouth)
- Weekend – 26 crore
- Weekdays – 10 crore
- Week 1 Total – 36 crore
- Final – 55 crore+
IF BAD (negative word-of-mouth)
- Weekend – 24 crore
- Weekdays – 8 crore
- Week 1 Total – 32 crore
- Final – 40 – 45 crore
We expect Agent Vinod to do reasonably well at the box-office. Sriram Raghavan’s last two films – Ek Haseena Thi and Johnny Gaddaar – were classics. With a bigger star cast and a lot of money at stake, the expectations this time around are higher.
