Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan will become only the second actor from India, after Amitabh Bachchan, to receive the highest distinction (civilian or military) from France for his contribution to cinema.
France has decided to confer the ‘Officier de la Legion d’Honneur’ – the highest distinction that can be conferred in France on a French citizen or a foreigner.
Apart from Amitabh Bachchan, Lata Mangeshkar and Satyajit Ray have also been honoured with France’s highest civilian award.
“After his meetings in Delhi on June 30 and July 1, the minister will travel to Mumbai for business meetings and give the highest French honour, the Legion of Honour, to actor Shahrukh Khan” a leading daily quoted a source as saying.
The foreign minister of France, Laurent Fabius, will travel to Mumbai to confer the award to SRK.
Khan was previously honoured with the ‘Ordre des Arts et des Lettres’ (Order of the Arts and Literature) by the French government for his exceptional career in the Hindi film industry.
The Legion of Honour, or in full the National Order of the Legion of Honour (French: Ordre national de la Légion d’honneur) is a French order established by Napoleon Bonaparte on 19 May 1802.

Yes I liked Srk in Swades but sadly it was a flop. I also liked him in DDLJ, Mohabbatein, KHKN & many more. There was a time when no one next to him (I am a Salman fan but still saying it) but nowadays the competition is stiff. Aamir & Salman are slightly ahead of Srk considering last 5 years but some of the Srk fans never accepts this & abuse other actors. Otherwise I have nothing against Srk !!!!!!!!
Note : Salman’s best is Tere Naam n Aamir’s best is Lagaan according to me.
