Producer Karan Johar has announced the release date of ‘OK Jaanu’ featuring the lead couple of ‘Aashiqui 2’. The film will release in theatres on January 13th 2017, making it the first big release of 2017.
“OK Jaanu starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor directed by Shaad Ali will release January 13th, 2017” Johar tweeted.
He also released a picture from the featuring the lead pair.
‘Ok Jaanu’ is a remake of Tamil film ‘Ok Kanmani’ which featured Dulquer Salmaan, Nithya Menen, Prakash Raj and Leela Samson.

I dont think its a good release date. The first release of an year always fails- Chandni Chowk to China, Players, Tevar, Wazir, etc all big films released during that time have flopped badly.

The release date is good as it will get 2 weeks before Kaabil and Raees . This is really important for Aditya as he is coming after 2 back to back disasters . This is a Remake of Tamil Movie – O Kadhal Kanmani which was a huge success and has received critical as well commercial appreciation . So Shraddha will have 2 movies in 2017 as of now – OK Jaanu and Half Girlfriend . I am not interested as the title is horrible and it is looking a typical romantic movie based on live – in relationships . To make things worse it is directed by Shaad Ali who has made craps like JBJ and Kill Dil .

I think Aditya is not interested in becoming a superstar . He is a very good actor and should not waste his talent .

I don’t know why but i feel this movie will be flop at boxoffice. Shraddha is very lucky at box office even she is not good at acting and with only average looks. But i feel this will be flop. How long will only luck favour.
Aditya still has to prove himself.
Whenever I read this Ok Jaanu name it sounds funny and a bit odd.
Hope Raees makers and especially its die hard fan won’t curse Ok Jannu team if it under perform like they made excuse to FAN with Jungle book !!!
P.S. I’m a neutral audience and thoroughly enjoy all actors movies. I know SRK’s fan will get hyper but I couldn’t stand with the excuse people made with The Jungle Book during Fan running time. Admit it people, good movies always run regardless of star cast. I hope wise people get the point.
