Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has recorded the 6th highest opening day collections of 2016. The opening has been marked as ‘excellent’ because not only was it competing against a bigger film, but also released during the ‘pre-diwali’ period. The level of opening is same as Akshay Kumar’s Rustom.
The other release of the week, Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay, has made it to the Top 10. The fate on Day 1 was similar to Mohenjo Daro, but the word-of-mouth for Shivaay seems to be better.
Sultan remains the film to beat this year. Unless Dangal springs a big surprise, Sultan should retain the top spot.

@indicine I think i asked you this same question 5 times but still no answer. Are you gonna post article on dangal’s trade response, BO fbo prediction or not? Yes or no. I am tired of asking this same simple question for so many days and so many times. You seem to feel insecured of dsngal’s BO hurricane and you know deep inside your heart that even in worst case it will be HGOTY. You also predicted CE to remain HGOTY in 2013, and it was smashed by dhoom 3 by big margin. U also predicted kick to remain HGOTY but it was smashed by pk in just 10 days. History will repeat once again and get ready to face the bitter slap as this time dangal will also smash sultan in just 10-5 days and become HGOTY.
Lol Sushant non holiday collection is more than srk holiday collection & his fan barking here it suggests either they are shameless or they don’t belong to this planet.
Watched both ADHM & Shivaay today. Since I don’t have much time these days, I am gonna just leave some brief comments on my experiences of both films.
#ADHM
An entertaining and fun riding 1st half! Certainly, enjoyable!
But it has nothing new but mash up of his earlier films like KHNH and KANK with some concept of friendship of girls and boys from MPK.
Ranbir rocked. Anuska rocked. Fawad excelled.
Aish looked smoking hot in every frame but she is in the film only to do lusty scenes. She made entry only in the second half.
It is not suitable for the family audiences at all. Not even for the married couple. There is so much betrayals and stuffs of extramarital affairs.

Shivaay starts on ordinary node. Shivaay is a mountain hiker and hiking guide in Himalya. He and Olga fell in love and had a girl child. She is a mute by birth, her mom left them.
As she grew up, when she came to know her mom is alive, she desperately wants to her. Her gather took her to Bulgaria to make her meet her mom.
She gets kidnapped. The real story starts.
Although, it was advertised as an action film, it tackled some hard hitting issues like human trafficking and flesh trade.
It is a must watch although sometimes the pace of the film slows down. In short, it is Ajay Devgn’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Well shot, well directed, well acted.
Suitable for all sections of audiences. It at least deserves to be a hit. Else, it will prove these so-called intellectual audiences of multiplexes in India to be hypocrites.

Manipulation was at its peak when hny’s opening was portrayed at 44.97 Cr when it’s actuals were 36 Cr! Now the manipulation is comparatively sober !
I will not be surprised if chunky Pandey starrer gonna collect more than Plutostar one in few days.

yesterday i watched Adhm And i liked adhm very much and now by seeing the collection of both of the films I can literally say one thing if movie is good then any kind of protest can’t effect the collection of that film. if content and story is good then no one can stop that film to be a blockbuster.

Although i agree that what he did back in 2012 with yashji was wrong and i didnt support him at that time but come fast forward, karan johar and krk are the main people behind ajay’s most ambitious project shivaay. They announced it later and tried to affect it by announcing his crap rom com. I am sure ajay never disrespected yashji and he even said in one interview that i respect yash ji and i have grown up watching his films but here i am only fighting for my right to release a film and that is business. Is there anything bad he said? No. So jist move on from that unfortunate clash of 2012 and talk only about this clash. In this clash i would only blame karan johar and krk.

Watched Shivaay first day and first show.
Left the theatre with mix feelings.
As every one know about the story now so let comes to other aspect.
The film start with a brilliant note, till the darkhast song movie is engaging, after than it start to taste your patience until shivaay’s daughter know that her mother is alive but after than it pick the pace. First half is overall very good. The problem starts in second half, the action/chasing scenes is so lengthy that instead of thrills you get bored after one point. The entertaining portion are less. The climax is too long, as in last 20 mins is simply waste. should be ignored. As audience just waiting ki kab khatam hogi movie. Second half ruins the experience of first half. Other thing is gaura is mute girl but her headstrong behaviour irritates, the character should be written the way we had seen of munni with bajrangi bhaijaan. The film failed to engage emotionally which is biggest drawback of movie as except shivaay we hardly feel for other characters not even for small girl.
Coming to performance except Ajay devgn, no one made a mark for me. The film belong to Ajay only. Erica looks beautiful on screen but her hindi accent irritates. Sayesha is decent. Vir das provide some comic relief. The small kid is decent too.
Ajay devgn is failed as a director to me. He wasted money on a product which can be more entertaining if it was fast paced and had better support cast. His direction is good till the first half but failed in second half. Logic takes a back seat in second half.
The most annoying scene was in the climax, Shivaay running with gaura on the road when the villains fires bullet with machine gun but both are safe so we need to believe that goons don’t know to how to shoot target.
Cinematography is the best thing about the movie, the location, mountain scenes is outstanding. Canvas is applaudable, songs are good. Some action scenes are superb too.
Overall Shivvay is a decent one time watch that too on big screen only. The trailer promises a lot but movie falters. I rate the movie with 2.5/5. It has element that it can scores decently in diwali weekend. Only for Ajay dedication and his hardworking I want that this movie will cross 100cr at box office.
Though I am surprised with Indicine rating as they are lenient with their review of shivaay. But We all know Indicine has habbit to surprise the viewers. Aamir fans are still waiting for Dangal trailer response article but I think it never gonna publish. I wish if they can avoid that article than no need to even post a single article of Dangal unless it fails to match expectations as that is only things they pray for.
I wish Ajay spend money with a better director and screenplay writer.

Shivaay will comfortably stroll past Adhm from Monday. Alarming signs for Multiplexes evening night show,completely swept away in single screen while Shivaay current collection is best described not very good but very safe.
Seems like both of the films will get 100 cr, but where they’ll go after that remains to be seen ???

Sultan will retaim the top spot as opening day because of partial eid holiday and also being more massy than Dangal. However Dangal has high chances to collect the best figures of 2016 on Sunday coincide with Christmas when the wom comes to play.
The first is between Dangal and Sultan, let’s see who wins. Except these two none of the movie will cross 150cr mark at boxoffice.
