Anupam Kher will be playing the lead role in a film titled ’The Accidental Prime Minister’, which is based on Sanjaya Baru’s book with the same title.
When the book based on former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was first released in 2014, it created a storm. The Prime Minister’s Office called the book a work of ‘fiction’, the press hailed it as a revelatory account of Manmohan Singh’s first term in UPA.
Written by Manmohan Singh’s media adviser and trusted aide, the book describes Singh’s often troubled relations with his ministers, his cautious equation with Congress President Sonia Gandhi and how he handled the big crises from managing the Left to pushing through the nuclear deal.
Directed by Vijay Ratnakar Gutte, the film is scheduled to release in theatres during Winter this year.

We have criticized Manmohan Singh a lot. But we should understand he has been able to complete 10 years as PM which is second after the Pt. Nehru. One of the top Economist of India as well as a good human being. Accidental or not but he got opportunity of People’s elected UPA govt. twice
Should be a respectful movie towards him in some ways. Anupam kher as him is surprising.
