Suparn Verma’s Aatma has opened to a poor response at the box office on Friday. The film has collected Rs 1.5 cr net and has only fared well at places where horror films tend to do well.
The supernatural thriller, starring Bipasha Basu and Nawazuddin Siddiqui was ahead of the other release this week (Rangrezz) and last week’s release (Jolly LLB), both films collecting around 1 crore on it’s opening and 8th day respectively.
The reviews from critics (link) and reports from theatres is mixed. So unless the film picks up over the weekend, Aatma is likely to end it’s first weekend with less than 5 crores at the domestic box office.
