Vishal Mahadkar has been conferred a grand directorial debut by the Bhatt’s. Vishesh Films is currently involved in the making of Oscar winning movie Blood Diamond.
The Bollywood remake, will be titled Blood Money and will be directed by Vishal Mahadkar. The movie will feature Kunal Khemu and Amrita Puri in lead roles.
Considering Mahadkar’s confidence and skills the Bhatt’s are considering him for yet another project, that is likely to be a remake of the 1990 film Aashiqui. Featuring Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal in lead roles, the 1990 movie was a commercial success. The audience loved Aashiqui for its romance and music. It also bagged music composers Nadeem – Shravan and singers Kumar Sanu and Anuradha Paudwal some prestigious awards.
Sources say that Aashiqui 2 was handed over to the newcomer after the original director Madhur Bhandarkar stepped down for some unknown reason. Once again produced by T Series, Aashiqui 2 will go on floors next year. Like always the makers are looking to cast new faces for the lead roles.
