An important meeting took place between the producers – (pictures below) Aamir, SRK, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Mahesh Bhatt amongst others – and the multiplex owners. The good news is, according to some unconfirmed reports, the strike is over. Yes, you heard that right. Finally, we could have some Bollywood movie releases soon.
Its the producers – who demanded 50% in week 1, 45% in week 2 and 40% in week 3 – are the ones who seem to have compromised here as the losses they incurred since April 9th, touched close to Rs 300 crores.
The final unconfirmed figures will be 50% in the first week, followed by 42.5% in the second and 35% in the third, for all films, big or small. Additionally, the business of movies that cross Rs 70 crores, will get 2% extra.
The all-important meeting held at a 5-star hotel in Mumbai, was attended by Yash Chopra, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Shahrukh Khan, Ronnie Scewvalla, Aamir Khan, Amit Khanna and others. We have some pictures from the meeting in Bandra, Mumbai. Have a look below and drop in your comments.
