The Tourism Ministry of India has sacked actor Aamir Khan as the brand ambassador of Incredible India. The announcement was expected in the aftermath of Aamir’s comments on ‘intolerance’ and his wife feeling of a sense of ‘insecurity’ and ‘fear’ in India.
Aamir had even gone to the extent of saying, his wife had given ‘moving out of India’ a thought.
Aamir had said “As an individual, as part of this country as a citizen, we read in the papers what is happening, we see it on the news and certainly, I have been alarmed. I can’t deny. I have been alarmed by a number of incidents.”
“When I chat with Kiran at home, she says ‘Should we move out of India?’ That’s a disastrous and big statement for Kiran to make. She fears for her child. She fears about what the atmosphere around us will be. She feels scared to open the newspapers every day. That does indicate that there is this sense of growing disquiet, there is growing despondency apart from alarm. You feel why this is happening, you feel low. That sense does exist in me”
However, Aamir had later clarified that neither he nor his wife Kiran have any intention of leaving the country.
The Central Government had appointed Aamir Khan as the Brand Ambassador of Incredible India, which promotes Indian tourism.

We can’t afford losing khans. They are terrific in giving excellent cinema. We can’t criticize them in the light of their personal thoughts. If there is a violence in any place then its all right for the people to condemn it. But it doesn’t mean that they don’t love their homeland.

@tiger the real problem is the unnecessary rivalry between Srkians and Bhai fans. Yes we Srkians do criticize Bhai and his movies but when he made an excellent movie like Bajrangi Bhaijaan (my fav of 2015) we all supported him.
The bragging and name-calling (on social media platforms like twitter Fb etc) ends up hurting their movies.
This time things (Dilwale protests) turned ugly and all Bhai fans were enjoying it.
I really don’t wanna do this, but I want Sultan and Dangal to be affected big time, just so that the other fans realize the ‘power’ of hatred.
Even I supported Aamir big time during his intolerance comments (from a different ID of mine) but the behavior of your fan base (Salmir) has forced me to do this.

On a serious note, I feel if someone is expressing himself, just let it be, its just one’s point of view, if you agree to it, great, if you don’t, it shouldn’t matter to you on a personal level.
People are here talking about Akshay’s statement saying Inko (Pakistan) ko ghus ke maaro. Brave of him (Akshay is my 2nd fav after SRK), and appreciate it but I’m sure if any of the Khans (especially SRK) made such a comment, they would somehow find a reason or 2 to criticize them (calling them brash/politically incorrect etc etc).
