A R Rahman is HOT property in Hollywood but the legendary music composer has turned down most offers that came his way, post his double whammy for Slumdog Millionaire at the Oscars! Reason? He wanted to do something contemporary, light and different. Unlike both Slumdog and Elizabeth: The Golden Age (1997).
When the offer he was looking for came his way, Rahman agreed to composed music for the light hearted romantic movie titled ‘Couples Retreat’ to be directed by Peter Billingsley. The film stars Kristen Bell, Malin Akerman, Jason Bateman, Vince Vaughn amongst others.
‘Couples Retreat’ will be Rahman’s first completely (full-fledged) western score and as the maestro himself claims, it will be done in “his way”.
