From the Khans – Aamir, Shah Rukh and Saif Ali – to leading ladies like Madhuri Dixit, Vidya Balan and Rani Mukerji, as many as 20 screen stars have united for a special title track for unique movie “Bombay Talkies”, which celebrates 100 years of Indian cinema.
The song, titled “Apna Bombay talkies”, has been choreographed by Vaibhavi Merchant.
Others who will feature in the song are Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Imran Khan, Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Sridevi, Akshay Kumar, Karisma Kapoor and Juhi Chawla. Unfortunately, Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan don’t feature in the song.
Around 20 singers have also come together to lend their voices for the actors, said a source.
“For the first time, 20 singers will be part of the same song. The title track has been sung by some of the most reputed singers in the industry. And the interesting part about this is that the singers have recorded for those actors whom they generally do the playback singing for in their movies,” the source added.
Some prominent singers, who have sung the track, are Sunidhi Chauhan, Shaan, Kavita Krishnamurthy, S.P. Balasubramaniam, Abhijeet, Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik, Mohit Chauhan, Sonu Nigam, Sudesh Bhonsle, Shreya Ghosal, Shilpa Rao, Udit Narayan, KK and Sukhwinder Singh.
The source said: “Vaibhavi has beautifully choreographed this number. There was a strict dress code for all the actors. All the men had to wear black tuxedos and the women wore gold outfits, designed by their own stylists. The song took over a month to be shot entirely as all the actors have independently shot for their parts.”
“Bombay Talkies” is an amalgamation of four short films by four filmmakers – Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap, Dibaker Banerjee and Karan Johar. The movie releases May 3 and it will also be screened at Cannes film fest this year.

Now the truth may hurt but it is alleged that King Srk visits Chad Michaels in his nightclub in Las Vegas doing his Cher impersonations. Srk may just be a fan of Cher or maybe he likes seeing Chad dress up as Cher but thats not for us to discuss in detail as its all a very touchy subject. I wonder who let aamir khan to participate in an important event like that wearing such lousy dress( jeans and t-shirt, you kidding ). @Navin. I saw one or 2 episode of aamir khan show satyameva jayate and i thought it’s not fair to show raped victim face even if they agree or not. They did just for sake of genunity as i said earlier. And in another episode aamir was critisising doctors left,right and center. Aamir says doctors are taking advantage of Patients by asking to go through so many tests. Yes that’s true i totally agree with him but 1 hour show and he spend 1 hour only critising doctors by calling ex doctor head or ex doctors committie president i forgot who is he. That will affect doctors credibility as a whole. And just 1 line praising doctors by saying “not all doctor are like that”. I think he shud have balanced the show by not spend entire episode to critisise doctors nstead he hd have spend atleast 15 mins to say something good about doctors. His only intend was to become messiah n front of audience. He dont care about doctors credibility as a whole. Therefore later so many doctors across the country were mad at aamir khan.
@ruler Aamir has given Bollywood its Biggest Blockbuster Ever so he can stand in the middle, right, left, back or on top of your head for what it matters…! ;-)

Yeah, there are some good doctors too but they are too less in numbers & It’s a universal fact that doctor’s are very greedy & generally they have some superiority complex.So Aamir did very well.
