Indian Cricketer Gautam Gambhir has taken a dig at the biopic that has been made on his World Cup winning captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The cricketer who shared an excellent partnership with Dhoni and scored a match-winning 97 runs in the World Cup final, also said that the 17 soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country, are more deserving of a biopic on their lives than any cricketer.
“These 17 martyrs deserve a biopic rather than any cricketer. No better inspiration than a young man sacrificing his life for his country. And these Jawans sacrifice their lives for paltry salaries and not disproportionate money & adulation reserved for us cricketers. Wake up”
Gautam had earlier stoked a controversy when he said “I don’t believe in biopics on cricketers. I think those people who have contributed more to the country than the cricketers deserve a biopic,” Gambhir wrote on Twitter.
“There are lots of people in the country who have done so many noble deeds for the nation. Therefore, biopics should be made on their lives”
Earlier today, Gautam added that he wasn’t talking about any one cricketer.
“My detractors got it wrong. Am not against ANY ONE cricketer’s biopic, am against the very concept which includes a biopic on my life.”
‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’ starring Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead is scheduled to release in theatres on September 30.

I totally agree with gambhir… Serving country and getting name to country doesn’t mean having girl friends and enjoying life lavishly with great perks and getting other benefits of retirement, match fees, IPL, showing off in public… And calling themselves with names like for e.g. Sir jadeja or captain cool just because team win some close matches out of luck.
I truly feel India has got so many Sachin and bradman living still poor because of no support. Sachin would have not survived for so long in cricket if its current scenario… Remember he scored his first century in 80 odd matches…i only admire Sachin for the number of matches he played for so many years… That’s an achievement but I don’t care his number of centuries or runs… He should have made more…. Look at virat Kohli.

Dhoni will get exact treatment like what he did with legends like Ganguly, Dravid, Sehwag etc. Power doesn’t remain with u forever. The reason why I still consider Ganguly as the best captain India has ever had is he nourished many players like Yuvraj, Sehwag, Zaheer, Harbhajan, Irfan and DHONI himself. And Dhoni as a captain has ruined the character of many players like Ganguly, Dravid, Sehwag, Harbhajan, Gambhir, Yuvraj etc. He thought senior players were not fit for the ODI team then so he replaced them. Now India is loosing many matches because of the 3rd class batting of Dhoni, they why is he himself not leaving the team? Gambhir made a comment on Dhoni’s decision and he is out of the team. Same for Sehwag. Despite being very inconsistent players like Rohit Sharma, Raina and 3rd class players like Dhawan, Rabindra Jadeja are still in the team because they are Dhoni’s pet. The downfall of Dhoni has just started with him loosing back to back IPL and many series for India. I wish he goes down in his career and get more n more humiliation.

i like neeraj pandey movies so waiting for this also but at other point also accept that ms is bit overrated !! if he is saying or accepting in that trailer “ki ye 3 odi mai fit nahi bethte” but kya jadeja,raina hamesha odi mai fit bethe despite poor performances(raina fits in ipl) , everyone knows he is among best captains but politics in his mind.

Ye kya comparison hua ….its k …his opinion ….but biopics cn b and shld b md on anyone who has had a journey worth sharing and cn gv viewers an up close personal look at how did dey gt dr from being a nobody ……also who decides kispe biopic ho kispe na ho…..its simply d filmmakers choice …….and it may sound rude on ds article but fact is commercial viability of d project is also an imp factor to green light a movie……..gambhir is a good cricketer and he served Indian cricket well but his batting degenerated and he strtd poking around off stump way too much and got out….much like dada struggled in test matches bfr he reinvented himself…..sadly gambhir hasnt dn dat and a promising career is cut short..,… ..also i feel his relations wd dhoni …kohli. .are soured so whn dey sit to pick a team ..dey wnt prefer a guy wd whom dey hv hd conflicts….especially whn dat player is not performing to scratch and dr r others who cn easily replace him……not blaming gambhir entirely …but dats d situation he is in …..he comes across as bitter ….i feel he hasnt got due recognition for his finale knocks as well and perhaps he too feels d same and mks him angry/frustated ….he shld channelise dat to score tonne of runs and get back to test team.
