Sarbjit has performed reasonably well in its first weekend at the box office. The weekend trend is good, but since the starting point was low on Friday, the film needed to show better growth both on Saturday and Sunday for a ‘healthy’ first weekend total.
However, the acceptable trend has meant that the film now has a chance to recover costs if it holds strongly on Monday. There are no major film releases until Housefull 3 in the first week of June, so Sarbjit can take advantage of 2 open weeks if it can do well in the next 2-3 days.

Watched Sarbjit!
It is flawed and inconsistent , but moving! You just can’t stop caring about the characters.
Compared to the director’s last film, Marykom which was messy and straight , Sarbjit has a lot of elements to be shown. Director Omung Kumar menages to deliver poignant moments. But they are too less in numbers. The story has a lot of things to tell.. The pain of an innocent farmer being unfairly punished, the displeasure of a sister, the sorrows of a wife and her two daughters to see their dearest one going through the worst phase of his life.Kumar also tries to show the blind hatred of people of two countries for each other and the effect of politics in some serious issues of common people.
Sarbjit would have been a much better movie, had it been consistent with its pace and writing. Some parts look too slow in the film. Some have been ruined by overdose of melodrama and chunky dialogues.
In acting department, the movie mostly gets brightened. Randeep Hooda is terrific as Sarbjit. Watch him in a scene where he asks the Pakistani Lawyer to stay with him for a while.
Aish is not particularly bad, but she fails to match up with the other two terrific actors. Her Punjabi accent and body language mostly look fake. In some scenes, she tries too hard,but fails in the end. She still makes her impression in a few sequences like the one where he meets her brother in the jail.
Darshan Kumar is good as the Pakistani lawyer.
Richa Chadda deserved more space than she has got in the film. She shines in a couple of scenes. Her expressions speak more than her words.
So in final words, Sarbjit is far from being perfect, but is never unwatchable. It is hard to like, but impossible to dislike.
I would suggest you to watch the film. It has its flaws,but it will definitely move you. You will feel the characters and their pain. My eyes got wet twice. I am going with a generous three stars.

Indicine gave 1 star to Sarbjit as if iit was a crap like Himmatwala,zanjeer and Humshakals.
Indicine rating really sucks. How on the earth Humshakals, R Rajkumar and It’s Entertainment became better film than Sarbjit.

Sultan Dangal Shivay Mohenjodaro their trade alone will be 1000 crore. Combination of all films will be lower than just these 4 films.

I feel really sad for Randeep Hooda, he was absolutely brilliant. But a badly made product will fail.Hopefully,such topics will be handled in a better manner in the future.

Completely off the topic but listened to the songs of Udta Punjab today and really enjoyed it. Till today had only heard Chitta Ve but today listened to the entire soundtrack and was quite an experience.
Amit Trivedi has done a great job.
Box office queens Aishwarya and Katrina are delivering back to back flops, oh wait what about abhisekh and ranbir, kings of flops.
