Salman Khan’s Tubelight has recorded the highest first weekend collections of 2017, which it has managed to achieve inspite of the film taking a significantly below-par opening compared to other Salman Khan movies in recent times.
The collections are at around the same level as Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees which released on fewer screens and also faced competition from Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil in the same weekend.
Tubelight has also managed to find a spot in the Top 15 Highest first weekend collections of all time. It takes the 14th spot. The collections of Tubelight pale in comparison to other big openers like Sultan, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.
The collections of the dubbed Hindi version of ‘Bahubali 2: The Conclusion’ is the highest first weekend collections of all time.
