Akshay Kumar’s ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ had 5 excellent days at the box office, but the film isn’t holding up as well as it was expected to after the holiday period came to an end on Tuesday.
The drop on the two crucial days, Wednesday (Day 6) and 2nd Friday (Day 8), was pretty sharp – which has meant that the film will end 2nd weekend at 113-115 crore.
With quite a few films scheduled to release next weekend, ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ is now looking at lifetime business of around the 125 – 130 crore range.
The two big box office records that it chases – beating the lifetime business of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’ to become the highest grosser of the year and surpassing Akshay’s highest grosser ‘Rowdy Rathore’ – will now depend on how much the film can collect 3rd weekend onwards.
‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ is Akshay’s second ‘clean-hit’ of the year, after ‘Jolly LLB 2’. It should get to ‘super-hit’ status by the end of its 2nd week and from the trend, it looks like that’s where the film will end.

I have never trusted this fake and pathetic overhyped box office india… in terms of footfalls mohabbatein , hum saath saath hain , dil to pagal hai , had more footfalls than dhoom 2 which was a huge blockbuster…….box office india is anti hrithik site…boi.has declared kaho naa pyaar hai as only blockbuster while it has more than 3 crores footfalls with exceptional and extraordinary trending with super positive wom…

Now what Akki fans have to tell who were dreaming TEPK to become highest grosser of the year ? Solo release, 5 day weekend ,positive word of mouth but result is same – 130 crore

Finally sharing some good news for us Akki fans to rejoice – Saturday is terrific and TEPK is chasing 6.5-7 crores, if it manages to do 13 crores over Sat+Sun, the weekend will get TEPK to 113 crores. Not bad, I think by end of second week, the movie can cross 120 crores. RR can be touch and go and all depends on 3rd weekend
I still think it will cross 130 and settle somewhere between 133-135, much more about earlier estimate of Indicine which was 120 but still less than what Akki fans were expecting which was 145-150. Still not bad, I think with 2.0, Akki will hit the roof. I am happy with 5 back to back major grossers.
Today for sure will be 7 crores.
So finally it collects 100cr in 8 days, but I think that it is shockingly very low numbers considering that it got 5 days long weekend also with Positive WOM……Actually TEPK gets the One of Best Week of the year (even better then EID Week) it had 2 Partial Holidays and 1 National Holiday plus Sunday holiday, it is even better than EID Week, because EID had only 1 Holiday……
Now TEPK has only 2 days (today and tomorrow) left in which it can collects good numbers, because after these 2 days, means from Monday collection will fall down to 1-2cr range, but if it collects around 15cr in these 2 days then it can collect around 130cr in its lifetime run, otherwise 120cr max.
Now 150cr is unreachable, if it collects around 15cr in these 2 days and around 4cr on Monday then collection may cross 130cr mark, even it may cross RR collection…..But looking at the current trend and competition from Hollywood Horror movie I predict 120cr LT or at max 125cr……But I hope that it cross RR collection…..
Hatts Off to Indicine for their prediction of 120cr, I don’t know what they see, but they predict this figure when movie is going strongly, every trade site was sure that it will cross 150cr mark and the movie was doing fantastic in Box Office in first 5 days, but Indicine stick to their prediction, and it looks like that they have hit the Bull’s Eye…..
I am still hoping that it cross atleast RR collection….Let’s hope for the Best…..
