It’s exactly a week since the first episode of Aamir Khan’s television debut Satyamev Jayate was aired. The response was mind-boggling all over. Now, with a few hours to go for the second episode, we summarize the impact the show has had in the last 7 days.

- Minutes after the show was aired, there were endless debates on social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook. Most applauded Aamir for taking up a social cause.
- Satyamev Jayate was the No 1 trend on Twitter till Monday, more than 24 hours after it’s telecast.
- Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot met Aamir Khan and discussed the issue of Female Foeticide. The government has already given the green signal to set up a fast track court, to quicken the trial in the female foeticide cases.
- Satyamev Jayate also had a massive impact on the Congress party in Pune. The Pune Municipal Corporation party leader, Arvind Shinde, has written to Muncipal commissioner Mahesh Pathak, asking for an explanation on why the ‘Pre-conception and Pre Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT)’ cell was dissolved.
- In Allahabad, a case was lodged against a local doctor Harish Chaudhary, for carrying out female foeticide.
- More than 64 nursing homes have been suspended in Bhopal
- More than 1,00,000 people called Aamir Khan to discuss the issue, out of which around 10 were selected. The revenue generated from all the calls, will be donated to charity by Airtel.
- Sources say, more than 65,00,000 SMSes were received (charged at Re 1 each). All of which, again, goes to charity.
- Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray has praised Aamir Khan for Satyamev Jayate
Like most of his films, positive words have already spread. Better TRPs and a much bigger impact expected this coming week. The second episode of Satyamev Jayate will be aired today at 11AM (Indian Standard Time) on the Star Network and DD National. It’s likely to be about Child Abuse (unconfirmed).

Show is great.Aamir could go safe side by doing some entertainment show but he tried something different and for this i respect him.In our life if we cannot do somethin for our society but all we can do is apriciate someone else effort.So please do not degade this article with bad comments.

@sahil + @abc, to you guys the show must be boring because you have been accustomed to what bollywood has served up as mindless entertainment on the big silver screen and on the idiot box this past decade but to millions of people this past week Aamirs show has unveiled a very dark hidden truth about our culture and society. The show works because it may not ‘entertain’ all of us but because it informs all of us of such immorality in our country that going forward we can save the lives of thousands of innocent unborn babies! For this reason and if no other then Aamir and Uday Shankar should be applauded for doing such a show and not following the bollywood trendsetters in giving us yet another mindless show. the impact seems good everytime is not all about trp!!! why people always look at things who is what? aamir khan knows what he is doing so let him do it, if the govts are doing something the better, atleast something is happening!!! good way of using TV. we need all types of art it doesnt have to be trp!!! and above all ak has already made his money so whats the problem
