Tamasha was steady on its 4th day at the box office, but the collections were on the lower side. Apart from a couple of metro cities, the film had a fairly big fall almost all over.
The Ranbir Kapoor – Deepika Padukone starrer has collected Rs 5.07 crore on Monday, to take its 4-day total to Rs 43.3 crore. The film is now looking at first week business of around Rs 55 crore.
The drop from Friday was around 55%, which can be termed as ‘good’ if the opening was big. In Tamasha’s case, since the opening was below-the-mark, Monday had to be in the 6 crore range.
In comparison, Singh Is Bling collected 7.1 crore on Monday, Phantom collected 4.4 crore, Welcome Back 7.52 crore, Brothers 6.23 crore, Dil Dhadakne Do 5.77 crore.
It remains to be seen where the film goes from here, because Tamasha would have to show major growth in business in its second weekend to have any chance of recovering costs.
The makers though, have already celebrated the ‘success’ of their film.

Will be flop for sure.Movie is good & better than YJHD but latter was more entertaining.This shows after hatrick disasters,people lost faith in him.
The collections should remain steady over the weekdays and in the second weekend too because Hate Story 3 would only target a specific set of audiences. Families would still prefer Tamasha untill Dilwale releases.

@indicine: Please get your facts right before posting articles. Opening day wasn’t at the below expectations. For around 2000 screens and a movie which only appeals for wiser audience, the collections were beyond expectations. And the makers didn’t celebrate the “SUCCESS” of the movie. They didn’t call it a “Success Bash”.. They celebrated the “Positive Response” for the movie
Yesterday komal nahta said that, Tamasha have to cross 110 cr all india nett collection to recover its cost … .for UTV , they have acquired all rights including indian and overseas theatrical, satellite and music rights…from music and overseas rights, they will get 20-20 cr….ie. 40 cr total…..so now for Tamasha it seems difficult to collect 100 cr..then why they are celebrating success party ?..
So pictures is clear this movie won’t cross 75 crores in india which means yet another flop for ranbir…..and this proves that akki and ajay are ahead of ranbir

actually i first wanted that bajirao too should be disaster and dilwale should emerge a hit…..but these third class fan base of srk(xzone,sss,iam akn…etc) had made me to think vice versa…..
so now i wanted bajirao to be a blockbuster and dilwale to be a disaster….
Ranbir is back into the game…he was never a bad actor…just needed a good script….

So Tamasha has not crashed at the Box Office . Now i feel HS 3 will play an important role in the success of Tamasha . If HS 3 is rejected then Tamasha will have a good 2nd week . But on the other hand if HS 3 works then Tamasha will be affected in the 2nd week . So still the suspense is not over whether this movie will be a failure or a success . I have not seen Tamasha and do not have any plans to watch . The next 4 Days are crucial in deciding the fate of this movie .
