Sussanne Khan, ex-wife of Hrithik Roshan, has rubbished media reports that she was about to marry ”one of Hrithik’s close friends”.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Sussanne and Arjun Rampal were spotted at a coffee shop.
In a statement released to the media, Sussanne said ”Persistent speculation in the media has made me realise that idle Bollywood gossip mongers, who are influential, are insistent on spreading rumours and lies about me.”
“Stories are fabricated on upcoming weddings and meetings in coffee shops. It is irresponsible press if incorrect stories are published. There are families and human feelings involved and it hurts people when false gossip is passed off as true. I am a single working mother and take tremendous pride in the way I live.”
A mother of two, Sussanne is the daughter of veteran actor Sanjay Khan and Zarine Khan. She married Hrithik back in 2000. After 13 years of marriage, the couple parted ways.

The quality of media in this country is degrading day by day . HR and Sussanne were separated in 2013 and legally divorced in 2014 and after 1 year they still want to publish such news . This is absolutely pathetic . Sussanne and Hrithik both are great human beings and they decided to do what they wanted to do . I also feel sorry for Arjun Rampal he is a married person and father of two daughters ans such rumours will make it difficult for him . Hrithik is a great actor and Sussanne is a successful interior decorator . Both are doing good for themselves . I hope media does not interfere in their personal lives . Both are mature enough, Hrithik has alleged relationship with Kareena than Barbara, which somehow created differences, still they were together. There is a saying come see me and come live with me is too different things, her husband had an affair, they separated and divorce, now they are entitled to live their own lives, the man is not always right as propagated by our society, I certainly would not have taken him back because with so many diseases out there I would have to be extra careful, would have forgiven him but he would have to prove himself. So why are you blaming she did not step out of the marriage and commit adultery with another man, he did with another woman. This particular story is about Sussanne Khan and Arjun Rampal, two persons nobody would bother to write about if one had not been married to a very popular & attractive Bollywood actor and if the other were not an attractive Bollywood actor himself. Well, the days of ‘real’ journalism are almost extinct, especially when it comes to reporting about ‘entertainment’ events, people, issues, crisis, etc. Writers are no longer required to tell the truth, facts, provide evidence, etc. You see it everyday — that they can even fabricate a story out of thin air, print it, and rarely get sued or when they do it’s often taken care of as part of what comes with the job. Therefore, it’s a waste of time trying to reason with the writers who resort to conjuring up and printing gossip because they are not being held to a higher standard by those who employ them or pay them as long as they bring attention to that media source which, in turn, brings in money/revenue. After all, people read that crap even if only to see what screwed- up story is being publicized next plus, we comment about the articles or the people, places, events, etc. It’s a terrible catch-22 situation because people who work in the entertainment field need media exposure and despite the damage media outlets often do in the process of providing coverage, entertainers & others who manage them or work in that industry usually can’t afford to make enemies of the media. In some countries there are laws prohibiting slander and deliberate reporting of false stories, etc. — and occasionally celebs, etc. will file claims against the reporters or the media sources that employ them; however, even when they win cases, it can bring them more trouble than it’s worth. Well, I am in the mood to spout off a bit of steam, I complain against and criticize the media for their seemingly heartless, cruel, hurtful gossip against celebs — knowing that their blatant lies and fabricated stories can wreck the celebs’ family lives and confuse & embarrass their children, etc. But most of the time, I just skim through and hope to find an article that a writer actually worked hard at as a true journalist, including facts, truth, and void of prejudice. I hate to think of how harmful and embarrassing these stories are for Sussanne and Arjun and their families but what all I imagine is bad enough for me to feel extremely empathetic toward them. Not one of us are in any rightful position to judge them as fellow human beings and condemn them the way so many commenters are doing along with the media. Sooner or later we all will pay for the wrong that we do. It should be enough to know that and just let each person deal with his own judgments due him or her. Unfortunately, ‘live and let live’ is no longer the motto that people live by. Instead, people are reverting back to ancient times when the thing to do was stick their noses in everybody else’s business, judge, condemn, and punish him while feeling completely righteous and unremorseful doing it
