The winners of the Max Stardust Awards 2009 have been announced. Stardust known for encouraging the newcomers in the Industry gave away the Superstar of Tomorrow awards to Farhan Akhtar and Asin. A.R. Murugadoss won the Hottest New Film-maker award.
Strangely, Shahrukh Khan and Aditya Chopra’s Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi didn’t win a single award! Hrithik Roshan won the Reader’s Star of the Year (male) award for his performance in Jodhaa Akbar while Priyanka Chopra won the Star of the year (female) award for her role in Fashion.

Well done To all the winners. Hrithik – beyond a shadow of a doubt was the most deserving. Also well done to seasoned actors who help launch the careers of guys like Farhan Aktar. Priyanka played a pivitol role in Fashion by highlighting all that goes on in the world of Modeling. Not all that glamourous after all. Quite an eye opener for all wanna be Models.
Why film industries dont remember Aamir khan for his perfomance in Ghajni,once upon a time they forgot Dilip sahab for Ganga Jumna, then they forgot Amit ji for Deewar, and many more in justification in the past

Do we even know what the title ‘Best Film’ means? Certainly SIK was an enjoyable film and am happy it was a super hit. But being the Best Film? No way!
Also Superstar of Tmrw belongs to Rajeev Khandelwal. Farhan is too slow and dull! Reminds me of Amol Palekar, who was a good actor but certainly not superstar material. Stop trying to suck up to Javed and Shabana, and be fair for once.
Good choice as far as Hrithik, Priyanka, Kangana and Asin are concerned. They were all superb and deserve their respective awards. Tushar Kapoor was rubbish in his role. And has the jury of critics gone mad?? Amrita Rao for Welcome 2 Sajjanpur is totally undeserving. She did nothing in the film. This award belongs only to Ash!
No award for AR Rahman??! Thats disgraceful. Anyway he is a genius and above awards just like Lata Mangeshkar.
All in all, many awards were just given to stroke the egos of powerful people in the industry…

Also some readers above (rooting for Amir, Akil SRK) are very annoying and should learn to recognise and root for quality and talent! Award ceremonies are not mediums for fans to cheer on their faves!!
I think this award is some kind of a joke to all the viewers and filmmakers in particular who has done all the hardwork in making films like a wednesday, aamir, oye lucky, rab ne bana di jodi, dostana and many more. I believe these awards are given every year only to appease each other and certain sections of the industry.. I mean giving best film award to singh is king and best actor in a negative role to anil kapoor for one of the worst film of the decade tashan and at the same time giving best actor in a supporting role to tushar kapoor for golmaal. What does it suggest ? Haven’t they seen nasseerudding shah and anupam kher in wednesday. I can not recall all the movie names and actors of all the movies released last year but I certainly know that there were much better films and much deserving actors. But at the same time they don’t require such silly awards for recognition.
I think the jury members has only seen these movies and given the awards to them. Instead of the filmmakers, the jury members and stardust must be given the biggest joke of the year award.

Stardust Awards 2009 is a Big Joke and there have insulted to bollywood.
The whole exercise is predecided and has got nothing to do with either public votes or critics judgment.
Its a farce basically and nothing more than a song & dance show to make money.

this man has achieved legendary things this year, and is the first indian to ever win a prestigious golden globe award in hollywood.
his musical score in the film ‘slumdog millionnaire’ was fantastic. he should be given some recognition for this, just like anil kappor has been.
a.r. rahman has done the impossible by winning the golden globe award and has made india proud.
