The last three decades – the 90s, 2000s and now the 2010s – has been dominated by the three Khans of Bollywood. It’s unusual for stars to command fan-following that stretches to nearly three decades and the incredible fact remains that two of them are taking film business to an altogether different level, while the third retains his insane-popularity and is probably just one good film away from doing justice to his stardom.
What explains the fan-following that the three top stars in the industry command? Aamir himself, who yet again delivered the industry’s highest grosser, says he has no ‘logical explanation’.

Aamir, who is the senior-most Khan both in terms of age and experience (Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak released in 1988), will complete 30 years in the industry next year. Rising stars in the industry today weren’t even born when Aamir made his debut.
When asked to explain his longevity, Aamir said “I guess somebody up there is looking out. Usually, stardom lasts for about 7-8 years. 10 years is a long time, 15 years a very long time. But 25 years is unusual. I can’t explain it. There’s no logical explanation for this”

Indicine doesn’t even have 90’s data, they haven’t even included Dil Tera Ashiq, Chandramukhi, Nischay wil lallu in lead role which were all Mega Disasters and included KKHH in Lallu’s filmography.
Only SRK had 25 years of stardom. Aamir is unique, can’t be compared with any of the Superstars before or after him.

I have an explanation.
The reason is the kind of male actors being launched are below average .They have neither acting capabilities nor star charisma. Though both salman and aamir beling to film fraternity but at that time they struggled too as newcomers. But noe NEPOTISM is at its height. No doubt these young stars will oneday becomee big as these will keep on getting roles. Abhishek bacchan was put through throats of audience till they choked.Same is now with arjun aditiya sidharth .earler it was imran khan. Even varun ranvir below average in looks and ranbir always looked cocained. None of these hve charisma .these are forced on us by the Movie Mafia

I think if there is a case of longetivety of stardom then Dharmendra had that for more than three decade he was consistent in giving blockbusters till 90’s and then deelip kumar also had stardom till the age 60 i think as karma vidhaata kraanti were the highest grosseers of that period after that it is only khans.
