Ishmeet Singh the winner of the first Star Voice of India is dead.
The singer who recently won the Star Voice of India contest landed in Maldives at around 12 PM today afternoon for a concert to be held on August 1st 2008. After lodging in a resort along with Vyom and Sumitra, the very talented singer got drowned in one of the swimming pool of the resort.
This news has really come as a terrible shock to Ishmeet’s family and the music industry in India. The Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh expressed shock over the death of one of India’s most promising singers.
Ishmeet’s mother was inconsolable and was in a state of shock. His uncle Charan Kamal Singh could not digest the shocking news “He had a great career ahead of him. We cannot even understand how he can die so young? We are getting only sketchy reports from the Maldives. Only those accompanying him can tell what actually happened. He did not know swimming. Why would he jump into the deep end of a pool?”
Ishmeet also took part in the recently concluded Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar contest on Star Plus.

Ishmeet Singh you shocked the world when you got the title The voice of India. I think you really deserve it.
But i got a big shock today. When i got up in the morning turn on my Tv. Heard the news that you are no more in this world. But we have u in our lives forever. I have no words to explain my feelings.I really got a big shock. I like you very much. You were the example for all the youngsters. I have no words to explain my feelings how big shock i have gotten when i listen this news. God Bless Your Soul. God Bless You. I think you will alway remain in our lives no metter what.

In the evening when I switched on the T.V, Star News Channel I was shocked to learn about the Ishmeet’s sad news I just cannot believe that he is no more. My heart goes out to his parents sister and other family members.May God grant his soul eternal rest and give strength to his family ro bear this great loss

It is shocking ..i am leaving the mesg here with a sadness that a young n talented person like him left this world so early.. it is such a great loss n wht ever we say the space which is created by him leaving us along will never gona fill up….. i will always morn him as few of his songs r as great as if he sing them at first he would have sing it better.,…….. miss you ishmeet

This all is really sad & shocking.I can not explain how i feel for him.Where were guard at swimming pool????This incident need to investigate and required proper action against reponsibe of resort.
His was alive , is and will. His voice will not let him die from our memories.
My deeply condolences to his family.

I got big shocked when got the news at night that ishmeet is no more.i still can’t believe it & don’t want to believe it..i am deeply sadened by this.Such a talent at age of 19 & i don’t know why god do this to him…Very sad.Ishmeet you will always be with us.

Thruly a good soul….I wonder Y God does this. You had just tasted sucess and learing to enjoy it. I am a gr8 music fan & have seen U sing right from trh early episodes of SVOI. Its difficult to belive U are no more. God help your family to deal with this tragic lose. We really love U and will miss U. May ur soul rest in Peace.

Hey there guys, this is what i found about Ishmeet’s death. HE WAS SWIMMING IN A PRIVATE SWIMMING POOL, exactly why there was no one around. The hotel’s management had warned Ishmeet, Sumitra and Vyom to stay away from the main pool since none of them knew how to swim. Ishmeet was quite impressed of the beauty of the resort and was overheard telling Sumitra that he would stay in the Maldives if he got a job there. He went off for a swim to the children’s swimming pool where the water was shallow. However, he jumped into the main swimming pool even after warnings from the management. The hotel people quickly took him to a nearby hospital from a boat but unfortunately he died before reaching the hospital……. - this is what i HEARD so far, i’ll try to keep you fans updated. May his soul rest in peace -

Situation which you discribe if correct then they must, must, must, appoint a guard to stop people to approach swimming pool.This is called “HAZZARD”When life guard was not available they must be surrounded that area to stop people to approach the Hazzarad area.This is another week point of management.To inform some one or warm in such environment is not enough and specially youth……
In teen age youth make mistake and seek.Just look at your own life.But in this case which is the big mistake?Think about it.

i jus can’t beleive that he is no more and i don’t even want to beleive that he is no more…
i’m really socked and it’s one of the most unbeleiveable incident in my life and i’ll never forget him and this incident which gave me such a big shock..

im from Maldives..i also just heared from the news.. all the maldivians and personally im really sad and shocked to hear the news…and we all participate in the greif of this bad situation..may god bless him..im a fan of him..i watched the voice of india and the jo jeeta wohi superstar show…he was brilliant…i have seen how much love he gets from his family..i can feel the sadness they wil be going through right now…may god bless his family and all of his fans too..and also give them all the strength to get through this incredibly bad and sad situation..

I DONO HOW 2 REACT 2 THIS.IT’S LIKE YESTERDAY I SAW HIM ON TV N TODAY HE IS DEAD.

Guys, itd great to know that Ishmeet Singh got so many fans and I am very much shocked with his death and still pray to god ji to send Ishmeet back .He was such a good soul ,so innocent ,very decent and a very responsible person .That was create a suspicion here that such a intellegent ,responsible who is not adventurous and who knew he can’t swim and have a bright future ahead, how can a personality like Ishmeet can go for a swim in a deep water ,his friends use to say that he was so focused in singing.He became a VOI who was not from a singing backgroud and who doesnt have any Guru but was very religious and believed in god and worked hard for whch he the got all power from God. He became so popular after VOI but its a human nature so ppl do not want to accept the defeat.Thats the way I think Ishmeet must have been victimised of jealousy for wich lost his life.Such a good soul is not in this world ,God bless his Soul. Ishmit you were fantastic in VOI…I knew it from the beginning you had a sweet and a very deep voice….Your choice of songs and charisma made you a winner…
This is not God’s doing..God is not cruel….everybody has their own time but you left us very early…
I am a Moslem but this is not about religion this is about a human life…it does not matter whether you are of any religion…
It must be so hard for your parents and family to coop up with this tragedy….I know you are watching us from heavens…But I can tell you one thing you made an impact to millions of people….I am writing to you from Minnesota in USA…
