Singer Ishmeet Singh Dead – Voice of India Winner
Ishmeet Singh the winner of the first Star Voice of India is dead.
The singer who recently won the Star Voice of India contest landed in Maldives at around 12 PM today afternoon for a concert to be held on August 1st 2008. After lodging in a resort along with Vyom and Sumitra, the very talented singer got drowned in one of the swimming pool of the resort.
This news has really come as a terrible shock to Ishmeet’s family and the music industry in India. The Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh expressed shock over the death of one of India’s most promising singers.
Ishmeet’s mother was inconsolable and was in a state of shock. His uncle Charan Kamal Singh could not digest the shocking news “He had a great career ahead of him. We cannot even understand how he can die so young? We are getting only sketchy reports from the Maldives. Only those accompanying him can tell what actually happened. He did not know swimming. Why would he jump into the deep end of a pool?”
Ishmeet also took part in the recently concluded Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar contest on Star Plus.

Ishmeet Singh you shocked the world when you got the title The voice of India. I think you really deserve it.
But i got a big shock today. When i got up in the morning turn on my Tv. Heard the news that you are no more in this world. But we have u in our lives forever. I have no words to explain my feelings.I really got a big shock. I like you very much. You were the example for all the youngsters. In the evening when I switched on the T.V, Star News Channel I was shocked to learn about the Ishmeet’s sad news I just cannot believe that he is no more. My heart goes out to his parents sister and other family members.May God grant his soul eternal rest and give strength to his family ro bear this great loss

It is shocking ..i am leaving the mesg here with a sadness that a young n talented person like him left this world so early.. it is such a great loss n wht ever we say the space which is created by him leaving us along will never gona fill up….. i will always morn him as few of his songs r as great as if he sing them at first he would have sing it better.,…….. miss you ishmeet

This all is really sad & shocking.I can not explain how i feel for him.Where were guard at swimming pool????This incident need to investigate and required proper action against reponsibe of resort.
His was alive , is and will. His voice will not let him die from our memories.

I got big shocked when got the news at night that ishmeet is no more.i still can’t believe it & don’t want to believe it..i am deeply sadened by this.Such a talent at age of 19 & i don’t know why god do this to him…Very sad.Ishmeet you will always be with us.

Thruly a good soul….I wonder Y God does this. You had just tasted sucess and learing to enjoy it. I am a gr8 music fan & have seen U sing right from trh early episodes of SVOI. Its difficult to belive U are no more. God help your family to deal with this tragic lose. We really love U and will miss U. May ur soul rest in Peace.

Hey there guys, this is what i found about Ishmeet’s death. HE WAS SWIMMING IN A PRIVATE SWIMMING POOL, exactly why there was no one around. The hotel’s management had warned Ishmeet, Sumitra and Vyom to stay away from the main pool since none of them knew how to swim. Ishmeet was quite impressed of the beauty of the resort and was overheard telling Sumitra that he would stay in the Maldives if he got a job there. He went off for a swim to the children’s swimming pool where the water was shallow. However, he jumped into the main swimming pool even after warnings from the management. The hotel people quickly took him to a nearby hospital from a boat but unfortunately he died before reaching the hospital……. – this is what i HEARD so far, i’ll try to keep you fans updated. May his soul rest in peace -

Ishmeet has become the music icon for the youngsters who love music the most, :( :( :( It’s unbeliveable when u watch the recorded shows of Ishmeet u still can’t believe it. :( :( :(
it is just soo sad..i really cant blv :( damn…very sad..RIP…thats all i can say :(
