Screen Awards 2015 Nominations

The list of nominations for Life Ok Screen Awards 2015 is out. The nominations for the Best Actor award are Aamir Khan (PK), Hrithik Roshan (Bang Bang), Varun Dhawan (Humpty Sharma), Shahrukh Khan (Happy New Year), Shahid Kapoor (Haider), Sanjay Mishra (Ankhon Dekhi) and Randeep Hooda (Highway). The popular actors to miss out are Salman Khan (Kick) and Akshay Kumar (Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty).

Moving on to the Best Actress Screen Award nominations, Parineeti Chopra (a highly underrated performance of 2014) gets her well-deserved nomination. Deepika Padukone has been nominated for Finding Fanny, Kangana Ranaut for Queen, Rani for Mardaani, Priyanka for Mary Kom and Alia for Highway.

The leading contenders for the Best Director will be Rajkumar Hirani (PK), Vishal Bhardwaj (Haider) and Vikas Bahl (Queen).

Queen has received 10 nominations, Haider – Mardaani – Highway all get 8 nominations each, Kick has 7, PK has just 3 (surprisingly the film hasn’t been nominated for Best Screenplay, supporting roles, lyrics or background score – we thought the background music lifted several scenes in the film).  Happy New Year gets 5 nominations, Mary Kom gets 7,  Ugly (a film that not many watched) has 8 nominations and 7 for Ankhon Dekhi.

Your argument is wrong on many terms. Firstly I’m not a hater. I like many of his movies. Secondly Srk is the most popular superstar who “values” awards. When Aamir, Ajay, Akshay and Salman dont give a damn about awards, hosts wont even consider them.

Srk is closely followed by Hrithik who values awards and has huge fan-following. Going by the recent film nominations I can say that these are only 2 things which matter. 1. Your stardom 2. Your respect towards that award.

But while giving awards they carefully choose good performances + popularity. And this masses, classes argument looks as stupid as a Taran Adarsh review. Salman may have big mass following doesnt mean multiplex audience ignores him.

Same with Aamir. If he was a multiplex star, movies like Ghajini and Dhoom 3 would have sinked without a trace. Go and check on Quora and IMBD. His fans have thrashed Dhoom like anything. At this junture they’re all equal in terms of stardom. Their Box-office performance depends upon the scripts and directors and release dates they choose. Whether you agree or disagree that’s the ground reality!

  • @Yuvraj… it’s pretty clear that you didn’t understand the message of PK.. A person needs to be broad-minded to try and understand what Raju Hirani and Abhijat Joshi were trying to say.

First of all.. they didn’t say dont feed cows. It could be a owner of a cow who keep his cows outside temples and tells people to feed the cow.. if they do, they will get a job. Isn’t that cheating and trying to fool people?

Go and watch the movie again and try to understand it.. Most people who haven’t liked the message of PK, haven’t even given it a chance. If you go with the intention of finding things that are against Hinduism, every scene will look offensive.

In the name of religion and god, enough people have fooled us already. Time to move on and remove these so called godmen for the betterment of the society.

Just because a Dholak player or a beggar can only understand a movie like Kick.. it doesn’t mean we should stop making films like PK. What about intellectuals, wouldn’t they get offended by films like Action Jackson? Should we only make dumb films so that even villagers can understand. I think Bollywood should go ahead and make our own version of Inception and Interstellar. If you don’t understand, don’t watch. Noone is forcing you.

And also.. PK will collect 110 crore more than Kick.. more people have liked and watched PK than Kick. Even my mom who is a huge believer in god and religion, understood and liked PK immensely.

  • @ neeraj- what amir said in pk – will cow type ur bio data and all these things suggest he dnt like that cow is devoted by hindus thats the reason ( dnt like pk cuz cow’s whole bio products like milk, urine are healthy and drug for many desease her bio waste is great fertizer. in villages or middle class everybod y like to feed neighbour’s cow but in colony where is food for cow?

  • neeraj hope u will understand that in india minimum ticket rate of cinema is 30 rs and maximum 600-700 aprox so most viewd film is kick not pk.

  • Hahaha, I can’t stop laughing at this moron “yuvraj’s” point of view.
    Internet is full of idiots.
These award shows are just useless as the brain of this yuvraj guy.
Watch them for entertainment and never take them seriously.
List of people boycotting these awards is increasing by the day.
Maybe in another 15-20 years, they would go extinct. Hopefully they do.

  • @yuvraj if you don’t know the facts at large volume than atleast give some time to search them.
As per boi kick collected 212 cr in which 135 cr came from multiplex so it means 64% contribution from single screens.Similarly hny collected 180cr from 125 cr from multiplex it means 70% from multiplex. So kick had 6% less multiplex share than hny.
Coming to pk it starts at single screens were below both hny and kick.It finish its lifetime with 335-340cr mark according to them.
So even if 80% came from multiplex than its single screen share will be close to 70cr.So less than kick but higher than hny.Pk multiplex xhare will be more than 250cr + so even ticket hike of 25% avg count still the pk multiplex business is easily 50cr more than kick.So much much higher than kick.In single screen 7 cr less than kick. Now in every case pk footfalls are way way higher than kick.
Regarding anti Hindu content. Its matter of perception of individuals. May be you don’t like but majority limed that film.If you have problem with religion sentiments than you should say that directly in your comments why to talking about logic or faults.

  • @Yuvraj.. I tried to put some sense into you, but you sound like the dumbest guy on Indicine to say more people watched Kick than PK… Single Screen business is 35% even for biggest of films. What exactly is your educational qualification? You don’t sound like you have studied much. I am not talking about your english, your logic is too dumb.

  • @ gulati, sky and neeraj will you grow any crop with help of books. look at previous indicine article where indicine wrote kick is ahead in terms of ticket sells so why dnt you people ask that time how kick is ahead of pk and remember Salman has less fan in multiplex and multiplex ticket rate also 60 to 600 rs. now i wanna laugh at ur maths hope u will get something terrible in ur life only after you will stop about education, qualification. grow up kitaabi keedo.

    • @Yuvraj, don’t misquote us. We said the footfalls of Kick on Day 1 was higher than PK. By the end of PK’s run, footfalls will be around 3 crore, while Kick is around 2.1 crore. PK has done well at single-screens too.

  • So, yuvraj, it is quite clear from Indicine’s reply that who needs to correct their mathematical and reading skills.
Hero worshipping is good to some extent, but don’t be a blind monkey.
    God Bless you!

  • your words indicine- And finally, Salman Khan. He doesn’t need much, does he? Jacqueline Fernandes wasn’t a top actress, Sajid Nadiwadala was a debutant, Kick released during the Ramadan period on a non-holiday, had lower ticket prices than PK and in terms of footfalls (number of ticket sold), KICK was way ahead of PK.

  • love @ indicine but i dnt like that ur users loose there mind and behave like hamshakals (mentals) and talking desrespectful to others. they think they are educated but theirs behaviour doesnt seems educated. shame for amir fans.

  • @Yuvraaj

Chill man. Enjoy movies. Dont go so deep into statistics that you might end up losing the joy of watching cinema. If you enjoy Kick and I enjoy Pk it makes no difference. Ultimately cinema is about entertainment. I really really love Andaaz Apna Apna which was one of the biggest disasters of Bollywood. Makes no difference to me.

Keep enjoying movies. If you didnt like Pk, it is absolutely cool. It is your point of view. As long as you’re not being deliberately cynical about the film, it is fine. :)

  • @ gj007- i really have respect for you but what i feel about pk i will write in one big comment. i enjoyed aamir’s performence more than salman but nowdays amir dnt have his old charm. he is doing movies to please only well trained peoples.

  • @Yuvraj.. what do you mean by well-trained people??? Come on man.. you are not making any sense. If you are trying to say Aamir is making intelligent films, then yes, he is. Would people want to see thrash like Kick and Jai Ho.. or good content driven films?

If you are comparing Salman to Aamir in commercial films, then again there is no comparison. Dhoom 3 collected more than Kick. Now before you say Dhoom 3 is a huge franchise.. he gave Ghajini which was the highest grosser of all time when it released… Salman for all his over hyped super stardom.. has never given the biggest grosser of all time after his re-emergence in 2010. The closest he came was Ek Tha Tiger..

So quit this argument.. Aamir has also done commercial films and has been much much more successful. He is a fine actor, who is respected both for the films that he does and for his acting. Salman is just Dhinka Chika. Nonsensical time pass. Noone considers him even a good actor, forget about respecting him.

  • @ neeraj- Salman was more than ur little mind just dance on dhinka chika and try to get you tube views. your aamir cant able to give such collection what salman gave with low profile team dnt compare amir with salman cuz salman is doing his work to entertain but amir is busy in multiplex oriented movies to get huge box opening. go and watch kick and write negative points i am watching pk again and i will write negative points ready to give ans instead dance on dhinka chika. ur good luck that pk didnt face sr and entertainment.

  • @yuvraj I am just amazed as to how a person like you presents arguments without any support or claim on facts. I don’t know if you are aware that you are making no sense out of your comments here.
My advise to you, go do a google search, learn all box office facts & figures by heart. It’ll help you regain consciousness and bring you out of that fairytale world.

  • SRK wasnt in one scene to be nominated for best actor..HNY wasnt cameo..He was leading actor in Movie if some idiotic people dont know and he was in all movie ..without him this movie will be not so big hit even others Deepika and Abhishek was very good too

  • Priyanka chopra best actress for mery kom

    Mery kom& gundy good preformse
    Best actress Pc only Pc

I love you priyanka ur really queen

  • @yuvraj idiot, duffer, salman is better than aamir in romance, dance in which world????? why are you so much jealous of aamir???? you are the only salman fan in indicine who is jealous of aamir so much!!!! grow up and learn to appreciate someone who is better than your idol.

  • ignore that guy @yuvraj. he is a blind salman fanatic. he won’t find any flaw in an out n out mindless masala movies of salman, but if there is any aamir’s brilliant class movie, he will keep finding even a single flaw for hours and hours , day n night, because he is narrow minded aamir hater more than a blind salman fan.

  • Salman should be nominated for Best Actor for KICK.
    Aamir deserved for best actor.
All fake awards and biased to SRK.

  • what (really) surprises me is that a film like PK, wasn’t nominated in Stardust awards show, in Big star awards show in any category!!!!! not even Aamir Khan as a best actor!!!!! isn’t that STUPID?!!!!! now comparing Aamir Khan’s performance in PK, with Shahrukh Khan’s acting in HNY, who’s really better? who did a greater job and played the most difficult role of his life?!! I think that all of you would say: Aamir Khan.. then why the hell those stupid judges chose Shahrukh Khan to give him the award as the best actor for HNY?!!! although am a big fan of Shahrukh, as all of u know, but if I find someone else did a better job, I would NOT be biased for sure!!! those judges at the awards shows are some “biased”, not fair, no justice at all!! OHHH and HNY won the best film and the best direction awards!!! so stupid to select a bad film as the best film of the year.. the award for best film should’ve gone only to one of the 2: Haider or Queen.. these are the 2 deserving films, and Ek Villain as the best thriller, Highway as the best story, PK as the best direction.. hope that the judges would do justice to these films and never select HNY again as the best film because ppl would LAUGH OUT LOUD!! and the stupidest of all is that HNY had entered the academy award!!! is that really true?!!!! for God’s sake, let those ppl select Haider or Queen instead!!

  • @suchit @neeraj:
stop barking on Salman. Keep ur nonsenses with u & don’t force us to treat u in same we do for srkians.

@yuvraj, concentrate more on srk and hrithik and leave aamir.
