Emraan Hashmi has been associated with horror genre for long, and will soon be exploring the spooky realm with “Raaz Reboot”. The actor says most of the stars shrug off the genre thinking that it “doesn’t get a place in the archive of path-breaking cinema”.
“I would say the general perception is horror doesn’t get a place in the archive of path-breaking cinema even in Hollywood. That’s the truth … I am doing it purely because of the genre,” Emraan told IANS.
He added: “It is one of the genres that has a very different kind of reaction from the audience and I find it fascinating.”
Emraan has been associated with horror genre through “Raaz” franchise and “Ek Thi Daayan”.
“It has a definite audience so that’s the reason I am doing it. You don’t expect best actor award for horror films for sure but it’s just the experience that matters,” he said.
Directed by Vikram Bhatt, the fourth instalment of the “Raaz” franchise features Emraan with south Indian actress Kriti Kharbanda. The film has been shot in Romania.
Emraan says shooting for the fourth part was nerve-wracking for him.
He said: “It was a nerve-wracking experience doing this film. Since it is a successful franchise, we want to take it ahead to another level. The look of the film is unique which is being appreciated. The audiences are expecting a lot from this film so I am excited to see their response.”
Produced by Vishesh Films, the film will release on September 16.
emraan hashmi is not a mainstream actor.. his films r way different from regular rom com shits n extra marital dharma craps.
he needs to find right director to sell n portray his genre.
i think emraan will deliver Hits in Baadshaho, Murder4 and captain Nawab.

In india, awards r completely lobbied n paid. I am sure Kjo will bag an award for adhm even if it turns out to b disaster becoz thatz how it works. Ranbir will too bag award although he has deadpan dialog delivery n almost same expressions. Big banners n star kids lobby award for themselves and there rom-com extra marital shitty films.
Hence I am bored of this fakeness n hence I m excited only for Shivaay.
Horror genre will always have audience,but it will depend on how scary it really is i mean both Raaz and Raaz 2 are arguably best indian horror film of all time,and in hollywood with small budget horror films doing wonders like The Conjuring franchise.

I am in love with Raaz reboot tracks. Especially Lo Maan Liya from Arijit , Hummein tummein jo tha from Papon and Palak and Sound of Raaz from Zubin Nautiyaal.
O meri Jaan is absolutely blissful. While Yaad Hai Na is okayish.

all three of us will be supporting ADHM this Diwali, we don’t want to see experimental crap directed by insecure Raju Chacha. We have always like rom-coms but we don’t admit it publicly because our Bhai has failed miserably time and again in the genre (Main aur Mrs. Khanna & Marigold).
Our Bhai’s movies have always lacked content and quality yet we yell content, quality and performance on top of our voice time and again despite knowing the fact that our Bhai and his movies posses none.
We want to finally admit, we are supporting ADHM this time, only doom for Shivaay.

Yes I am with you. Creature 3D, 1920 London, Raaz3 all thes are horror films but receive negative reviews but still were cult classics.

I am surprised that how can Creature 3D was crap by people? It was an excellent film. Everything was good. Content was superb. Songs are very nice. Story was brilliant. VFX was also good. The voice was the monster was outstanding. It also has a moral message. Horror scenes were not so good but was still better than Phoonk, Phoonk2, Darna Mana Hai, Aatma, Bhoot and many more RGV directed horror films. I gave Creature 3D 4.5 stars as it worth it. 1920 London, Shaapit, 1920, 1920 Evil Returns, Haunted 3D, Raaz3 all these were excellent were brilliant movies but receive negative reviews as these were Vikram Bhatt movies whom whole industry ( except Salman Khan ) is jealous

Raaz (first part) is undoubtedly best Horror movie of Bollywood in last 25 years (I mean after Ramsays). Raaz franchise is hugely popular. Yes, Emraan is correct there is a section of audience who love watching such movies irrespective of critics and how movie has turned out. My all time Horror movies in Bollywood as follows:
