Actor Shahid Kapoor, who has delivered several top-notch performances, but struggled when it comes to box office results, has said he didn’t want to make the mistakes that he did after the release of ‘Kaminey’.
Shahid did films like Dil Bole Hadippa, Chance Pe Dance, Paathshaala, Mausam, Teri Meri Kahaani.. all of which were rejected at the all-important box office.
However, the actor has made a successful comeback with films like R.. Rajkumar, Haider and now Udta Punjab.
“After ‘Kaminey’, I think I lost the track. So after ‘Haider’, I did not want to repeat the same mistake. With due respect to the kind of support and appreciation I received for ‘Haider’, I wanted to do better roles. I’m happy I didn’t have to wait much and got a chance to perform in ‘Udta Punjab’,” Shahid said at the success party of ‘Udta Punjab’.
“Since I have done ‘Kaminey’, one thing I have realised is that the youth wants to watch something different. However, we are scared to experiment with new ideas,” he added.
The actor said, the film lost around 20-25% business due to the film leaking onto the internet.
“We are genuinely upset about the leak. We are thankful for the massive support we got from media and people. Even though the leak happened, it is the biggest opening in my career. However, I feel if the film wasn’t leaked, it could have earned 20 to 25 per cent more,” he said.

now he will start doing niche kind of roles which will only watched by metro audience.he rejected magadheera remake which has huge potential at the boxoffice.
Mohenjodaro will flop badly. Trailer has been horrible.
He is realy one of the most talented actor of bollywood but always remains unlucky in terms of boxoffice he surely deserves to be a top star bt luck never on side of him anyways best of luck shahid hope 1 day u get ur due ?
The MJD trailer was below average, both from production value point and historical accuracy point.
Mohenjodaro trailer is one of the most pathetic historical trailers ever.
1. The dialect and language used is 100% exactly the same Hindi we use today. Couldn’t the makers hire few language experts to teach the actors to speak with a different dialect?
2. Iron was not discovered back then!
3. The clothes worn by the locals should be simple one-piece, not the stitched two-piece clothes shown in the trailer.
Aashutosh has been pretentious, he doesn’t have the talent of Rajamouli or SLB, who put a lot of hardwork, attention to detail and creativity in their films. Hrithik has been extremely lazy, he plays almost the same character from Agneepath.
Mohenjodaro deserves to be a Disaster, it will teach Aashutosh and Hrithik a lesson.

Deserved a lot more success than he received. The choice of his movies was a big factor in that.
Acting wise he is an outstanding actor and was especially exceptional in Kaminay, Haider and Udta Punjab.

industry with open hand has accepted shahid kapoor , he has been in industry for 13 freaking years and still his movie struggles at box office .
movies like haider, kaminey or udta punjab do no good to actors popularity.
a superstar as big as akshay who once as big as srk made many modern day classic but at b.o noone have been a major grosser
even srk with fan proved that you do need one commercial movie every year because if content fails these niche movies might fail & even if content is appreciated then 100 cr is their reach
on the other hand even decent entertainers like baaghi , hskd and all are not only b.o hits but thanks to repetive television streaming they all become very popular with family audience and thus they add to your popularity

shahid wishes to be aamir (many times he has said aamir is his favorite) but he doesn’t understand that aamir too for first 10 years did many no brainer commercial masala movies or typical rom-com. with that he made a fan base who came in numbers when he did lagaan , sarfarosh etc

Onwards and will finished from Monday,sultan will be the biggest disappointment masala movie of the year.no good songs,no good supporting actors except Anushka/randeep,no buzz,bhai’s Ghanta acting ,all together made sultan trailer the biggest crapfest of the year.waiting for the time,when the song jug ghumeya will be played in the theatre and no people will be there to watch bhai’s songs.ARIJIT’S curse really worked recently and now what left is the whole film to be a debacle,hopefully this biggest crap will be flopped in order to save Bollywood’s glory.
