Tamil superstar Rajnikanth is all set to return in the sequel to his 2016 film ‘Kabali’, which took a record-smashing opening at the box office earlier this year.
The film, which will be released after Shankar’s ‘Robot 2.0’, will be produced by Rajnikanth’s son-in-law Dhanush under the ‘Wunderbar Films Pvt Ltd’ banner.
A source from the Tamil Film Industry confirmed the news and said the producer of the first film had allowed Dhanush to continue the ‘Kabali’ franchise.
“It’s going to be ‘Kabali 2’. Dhanush has taken permission from producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu to continue ‘Kabali’ franchise with the second part. The project, however, will only materialise next year, after the release of ‘2.o’ in the summer”
Meanwhile, Dhanush released a video announcing the film, which is expected to release in theatres in 2018.
