Jolly LLB 2 – Bata Defamation case: Akshay Kumar won’t appear in court

The Delhi High Court has exempted Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar from personal appearance before a trial court in a defamation case filed by Bata footwear company.

The company had objected to a dialogue from ‘Jolly LLB 2’, the trailer of which was removed from the internet due to the court case.

“Till the next date of hearing the petitioner (Akshay Kumar) is exempted from personal appearance before trial court,” Justice Mukta Gupta said and fixed the matter for hearing on May 23.

The judge further said the actor can be represented through his counsel and his personal appearance will not be required in the court.

Jolly LLB 2 released in theatres on February 10 this year.

  • dont worry nothing will happen to canadian kumar before 23rd may the hearing date he will run away to canada and hide there

  • Calling Akshay Kumar to court doesn’t make sense. He didn’t write the dialogue or force anyone to include it. Whatever the action is, it is to be taken against the writers and director. Anyways, it’s been long time since people saw the trailer. No one remembers it, with all this news ppl will just recall that dialogue. At the end of the day, Bata gets publicity.

  • Good that court is not involving him but I want court to drag his fans like @Sunny-toilet : Ek badboo katha for creating hatred for Akshay.

  • ek to promotion phir uper se case………..phir uper se akshay kumar……..Bata taking advantage of its sleepers .

  • Now, all the deshbhakts will be united against the Swisss company of today’s Czech origin in favor the Canadian actor!!

  • @Veer, Akshay is the face of the film and he said the dialogues, no matter who has written them

  • DESH BAKHTI SIRF MOVIES TAK SAHI HAI.. REAL LIFE ME HUM KOI GOVT RULE NAI FOLLOW KAREGEY – AKSHAY KUMAR??

  • I WAS NOT MEANT TO BASH AKKI BUT DUE TO THAY GUY NAMED SUNNY GUUU WALA… HAS MADE ME DO SO..

IF HE WON’T STOP HIS NONSENSE GET READY FOR BASHING

  • Now, those like @Toilet-Sunny Ek Alcoholic who object to the complainants for suing Akki should be slapped with those bata shoes.

  • But as long as I remember it was Annu Kapoor who said the dialogue Bata ka joota pehan k…Not akshay then how did they file the case against him ohh I guess just to get the publicity this case is not even valid..But just for publicity so fine..No worries

  • @Anand Annu Kapoor said the dialogue ?in the trailer, not Akshay. Calling him just because he is the face of the film doesn’t make sense. Maybe that’s why they said they allowed his counsel to represent him.
