ABCD 2 has collected Rs 28.81 crore in 2 days at the box office, which is by far the highest 2-day collections of films released in 2015. The advance booking on Sunday too is excellent and the film should collect around 45-46 crore in its first weekend, which is excellent considering the budget and star cast of the Remo D’Souza directed film.
As far as the lifetime collections of the film is concerned, a lot would depend on how well it holds on Monday. If ABCD 2 passes the Monday test with flying colours, then the film has a good chance of enjoying a steady run for the next 3 weeks before the release of Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
The Southwest monsoon has affected business in parts of Mumbai and Mysore circuit, and the Ramadan period during which muslims avoid watching films in theatre, are the only two factors that could impact the final total of the film.
As part of our IndicineLBO predictions, we expect ABCD 2 to finish with lifetime collections of Rs 102 crore. It will be touch and go, but ABCD 2 has a good chance of going on to be Varun Dhawan’s first 100 crore film.

102 crore is too less..it wil enjoy a good 4 week run and can finish around 120-125 crore mark..
With Dilwale, Varun will surely become a superstar among the newcomers!! Ranbir will have tough competition now.
@Ashish Thapar.. even I thought that it will collect more than 125 looking at the opening.. But Indicine predictions could be more accurate than you think. Ek Villain collected 50 crore in first weekend, but ended with collections of 103 or 105 crore.
WOM is not great for ABCD 2.
@Neeraj Good observation brother, but remember that EV had 2 decent releases in the next week: Bobby Jasoos and Lekar Hum Deewana Dil. both would have taken some screens, followed up with HSKD in the next week. ABCD2 has a clear free run.

45cr weekend for Varun is considered excellent and hyped up so much. For Akshay it would be considered average/below expectations. That’s the difference. One film doesn’t make varun bigger than akshay. Gabbar footfalls would still be higher than ABCD 2….

So even with open weeks.. I still think ABCD 2 will have to sustain very well to beat Ek Villain. It just might because of 3D release.
