Q. How much FAN needs to do for HIT , Super HIT and Blockbuster Verdict ?
A. Too early to comment. FAN isn’t a big budget film, but these days for big stars it isn’t about recovery but meeting trade expectations. When a Shah Rukh Khan film releases, it comes with certain expectations. Exhibitors expect his films to significantly increase footfalls at theatres. And his films would be a massive disappointment if it recovers costs, but finishes with business of less than 100 crore in India. It was the same with Dilwale too, SRK the producer made profits, he compensated domestic distributors.. but 148 crore was way below what was expected out of the film. FAN will be considered a solid success for SRK if it does 150 crore plus in India.
Q. To how much extent will there be an affect of IPL over FAN?
A. It depends on how the film is received. If the word-of-mouth is good, people might skip IPL to watch FAN. The impact on business could be more if the film receives mixed to negative response. IPL matches aren’t the same as international cricket matches featuring India. Games featuring the home team are usually the most watched in that particular state and the schedule is spread out, so the impact is minimal.
Q. If Dangal prepones and releases on Independence Day, don’t you think Sultan or Raees, one of them should move to Christmas?
A. News of Dangal releasing during Independence Day seems to be baseless. We haven’t heard from any reliable source about Dangal getting preponed. It doesn’t make sense either. Why would Aamir Khan want to let go of his most successful release period, which also happens to be the best time of the year to release films? So far, it looks like he will get a solo release too. No logical reason to shift to any other date. The only reason for the confusion is, the director of the film refused to comment when asked if Dangal will be shifted to Independence Day.
I think if word of mouth is good of fan then it can cross 200 crore and also I belive that raees will open bigger than sultan both in india and overseas.lifetime in india will depend on content but lifetime in overseas will belong to srk.
With a collection of 150 cr+, FAN will be a blockbuster considering low budget of the film.
After all, we have seen a blockbuster with 158 cr (whcih was released on a Xmas holiday).
So for a low budget non-holiday release, 150 cr should be the target.

Waiting for FAN not because of box office but to only and only meet Gaurav Chandana. This movie is most special for me and closest to the heart.

If fan works properly n has the right packaging then consumers can buy a second hand one for about 100rs if you shop around. Likewise the movie can do 100cr but it wont imo so 70-80cr is max it can do…!

The likes per dislikes ratio for Fan trailer on YouTube is 15:1.Which means even the neutral audiences are intrigued and are excited about the trailer.If everything goes well it is set to have an historic run at the BO.
But the joy of seeing Srk dance to the tunes of Jabra and get into the skin of his character like he used to in his prime years is beyond any records and collection.It is the biggest spectacle for every Srkian.

With rustom aggresive promotions utv is getting a taste of there medicine..they did same to an Akshay film in 2013 on same weekend by sabotaging ouatim 2 and forcing them to shift there release by a week while ouatim 2 was announced for Eid release much before Chennai express

In that story, srk fans were giving unbelievable box office predictions for his movies like 300cr,500cr, 1000cr
Srk was very angry..he told them not to make insult of him by giving imaginary numbers
But they didnt listen to him…and srk said they were not his fans but still nothing worked…finally srk did suicide…end of the story…600cr movie
I Think fan will do a lifetime of 150 crs if WOM is mixed.
It can do 200 crs if WOM is good. .
And i dont think it can do 250-300 crs because its really illogical.
