Grand Masti is proving to be unstoppable at the domestic box office, as the film is holding up very well even in the smaller centres. Multiplexes on Tuesday had normal drops.
The film has exceeded all pre-release trade expectations, with every distributor recovering his/her investment in less than 5 days. In fact, even after a super-start, many expected the film to drop heavily on Monday which wasn’t the case.
The Indra Kumar adult comedy has collected around Rs 7 crore on its first Tuesday, taking its 5 day total to a humongous 55 crore net. The film will collect around 67 crore in its first week.
The response to Phata Poster Nikhla Hero this weekend, could well decide whether or not Grand Masti can cross the cross the 100 crore mark. It is almost certain to be the highest ‘A’ rated film of all time, going past the lifetime collections of ‘The Dirty Picture’ (80 crore).
