Year 2000 – Hrithik Roshan’s year by quite some distance as he turned superstar overnight. Although Fiza didn’t do well at the box-office, his very first release was a Blockbuster and his last release did well too. Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan’s Mujhse Shaadi Karogi was the third biggest grosser, as it did ‘Hit’ business. 2004 was also the year when Dhoom released. Year 2006 – Hrithik Roshan was the box-office king in 2006 as two of his films – Dhoom 2 and Krrish  did blockbuster business. Sanjay Dutt and Rajkumar Hirani’s second Munnabhai film was the most loved film of the year. It was also the year that started the trend of sequels.

Year 2009 – 3 Idiots was not only the second film to join Ghajini, but became the first and only film to cross 200 crores at the box-office. By the end of this year, many believed that Aamir Khan was far too ahead for others to catch up. Wanted was the second biggest grosser, but not many took the success of the film and Salman Khan too seriously at this stage. Ranbir staked his claim as a future superstar, when established guys like SRK and Hrithik had no release in 2009. Not to forget, is the fact that Katrina Kaif  was enjoying the best phase of her career and could give the men a serious run for their money – popularity-wise.

Year 2010 – Salman Khan Dabangged his way to the top. Aamir Khan had no release and SRK’s My Name Is Khan didn’t have mass-appeal for huge business in India, but is still doing good business overseas – two years after it’s release. Even though Housefull did good business, Akshay Kumar was slowly losing his audience due to an excess of mindless comedies. 2010 was also Ajay Devgan’s year with two blockbusters Golmaal 3 and Raajneeti. Hrithik Roshan was going through the worst phase of his career since 2004, but enjoyed immense critical acclaim for his performance in Guzaarish.

  • @indicine

Can you tell us any information about CHENNAI EXPRESS ? it is releasing time , female lead , when shooting will begin , who is producing……. etc etc etc

  • srk. aamir & salman have given various blockbusters since early 1990 so comparing them with hrithik is totally unfair… hrithik has tasted success oly with huge banners films like yashraj films n dharma productions.. he is lucky to be enjoying this status… where as the khans have worked with unknown directors n have given hits.. this is fact…

  • Good job Indicine..this shows that SRK is always consistent performer..RNBDJ could have touched 100 crores..but Ghajini released after its two weeks..!!

  • WOW. SRK is truly KING of BOLLYWOOD with 14 successful films.
Actually SRK is TOP in all films in decade in overseas.
    That’s SRK rules.

  • The king of hearts is the king of box office too! Others come and go but it is Shahrukh who is maintaining his position at the top right from the begining in india and in overseas he has no competition at all! Only he rules when he is there!

  • @indicine it is very good that you posted this list but it would have been excellent if you had taken this list from 5 to 10years back i.e. from 1990 or 1995. But still it is very good! Keep it up!

  • Bhikhari khan salman aur amir k baad aate hai.hritik aur ranbeer bhikhari khan jagah le rahe hai aur salman amir k baad hritik ka no. phir ranbeer ka badme bhikhari ka.kyonki logo ko bhikhari khan ki filme pasand nahi aa rahi hai.for your information in 2010 dabangg,in 2011 bodyguard and ready are leading.and 2010 se 2020 tak salman khan ki filme no.1 pe rahegi.bhikhari khan ki koi bhi film 100 crore cross nahi karegi.kyonki uski action and comedi wali film chalti nahi. romantic film 100 par nahi karti

  • ThatS Why Shah Rukh Khan is UnDisputed King Of Bollywood WOrld…His Power is Touching the seventh sky of the UniVerse where even our Vision can not reach…He Rules!!!

  • In 2012, Salman will again Dabangg his way to the top…… In 2013 Aamir will make his way with DHOOM 3, SRK needs to do masala entertaining films to Regain his Top Spot, coz with Romantic films, and so called hollywood films this won’t be possible.

  • Someone here gave the credit of hrithik sucess to yashraj & dharma,,,welll congrats duggu..now the deniers have added two more reason to the papa reason…keep going & they will be running from pillar to post to find another reason…..n ppl agreed…khans are kings…their forthcoming movies will break record…but when the dust settles & year 2013 is over……krrish 3 will rule them all…& no khan can do a damn thing about it….period.

  • to all the khan lovers….where were ur beloved khans hiding in 2000, 2003 & 2006…when HR ruled supreme…..n ya dont forget sunny paaji…zara gadar pe inflation to adjust kar ke dekh lo….hawa nikal jayegi….

  • Its SRK the CONSISTENT blockbuster Machine.. But like at sudden few Movies of Aamir Like 3 Idiots or Dabang or Bodyguard Shown Up..
in 2000-2008 There are No Mivies of Lallu or Aamir khan..Sometimes they showed up..
But the yera 2012 is SRKS Year Undoubtedly The Yash Chopras Next..It will be the all time Blockbuster..

So SRK ur da king..and you will be….

  • i have to give it up to salman khan for turning meaningless movies into blockbusters. its funny the way indians respond to boxoffice. in hollywood a good movie doesn`t need a super star to do well at boxoffice. also if a superstar does a bad movie , it would not become a hit or blockbuster simply because the lead actor is a super stars. i would love for indians to go to theatres to watch good movies not super stars. i also hate the way the industry writes off actresses. that has to stop. madhuri, sridevi and the others are still the great actresses they were yesterday . why does the indian public rather see katrina kaif thann madhuri? why can`t they go out and watch both?

  • Bhikari khan ki romantic filme ati hai.action aur comedy nahi.kyoki uske wo film flop hoti hai.s r gey…ha ha ha s r gey copy salman.love you salman.bhikari khan ko acting nahi aati.

  • this is just india’s collection still no body come close to sharukh ,think when overseas collection is added then dhoor dhoor tak koi nazar nahi aayega
