The top actors in the industry are the men who drive the industry. Without them the star-driven Hindi film industry would struggle for its very existence.
For some unknown reason, the industry hasn’t been able to produce too many bankable stars in the last few years. Four of the current Top 5 actors, made their debut before before 1993. Since then, only Hrithik Roshan has managed to make it to the ‘superstar’ league and even he made his debut 16 years ago.
Fortunately, in the last few years, actors like Varun Dhawan, Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh have shown a lot of promise and along with the likes of Arjun Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra, these younger generation actors could well be the superstars of the future.
Akshay Kumar – Salman Khan – Shah Rukh Khan
Akshay Kumar has been the most prolific actor over the years. He started his career with low-budget films, a lot of them borderline B-grade, but the superstar has never let failures affect him. The result? Akshay is one of the top actors in the industry today and holds the record for the highest career collections. The total collections of all his 106 movies currently stands at Rs 2781 crore.
The second best is the megastar himself, the numero uno star in the industry today. A 28-year-long career that has seen depressing lows to incredible never-before-witnessed heights. Salman Khan’s 73 movies have contributed Rs 2648 crore to the industry.
With films like Housefull 3, Rustom and Sultan, it’ll be interesting to see which actor becomes the first to cross the Rs 3000 crore mark.
At No 3 is the incredible Shah Rukh Khan, arguably the only actor in the industry to have a career of more than 2 decades, without having to go through prolonged periods of failures. His success ratio is the highest and almost all his films have taken a good opening at the box office.
Ajay Devgn – Aamir Khan – Hrithik Roshan
Ajay Devgn is ahead of Aamir Khan and the only reason for this is the big difference in the number of films that they have done. Aamir currently holds the record for the best average (per film) for actors who made their debut before 2000.
Hrithik Roshan averages 60 crore per film, which is excellent for an actor who made his debut 16 years ago. Varun Dhawan’s average is the overall best (84 crore per film), but it shouldn’t be compared to actors who made their debut before 2010.

Also since Koi mil Gaya in 2003 he has only 11 movies in 13 years. That is shocking.
In few years I feel even the younger generations who have made their debut 10yrs later than hrithik will move ahead of him in terms of No. of films. Seriously needs to do more films.

Surprised! Salman has a higher average per film than SRK despite more films. Incredible! I may troll him and his fans but I don’t doubt the fact that Bhai has been a huge superstar.
SULTAN needs 352cr for salman to enter 3000cr club which is nearly impossible with a clash with raees whereas HOUSEFULL 3 + RUSTOM need 219cr for akshay to enter 3000cr club which is achievable as housefull is a big franchise and trade for rustom is heating up.

With due respect to the analysis, I don’t think it is right to show the ‘average per film’ against the stars without considering the bandwidth of various decades. For example a star like Sid Malhotra obviously will have bigger ‘average per film’ than the likes of SRK, Akshay, Salman, Aamir & Hrithik which is not how it has to be shown I would say. Industry keeps on changing with regard to the reach, multiplex era, budgets, ROIs, new markets penetration etc….
So the best way to show ‘average per film’ (if you really want to show) would be classifying the stars’ movies into various time frames like 1990-1995, 1996-2000, 2001-2005, 2006-2010, 2011+ ….just a food for thought…cheers

Each & every movies of srk if we go through analysis you will be concluded that all his blockbuster or ATBB were backed by top class directors e. g. Yrf, dharma, bhansali etc.
1.DDLJ – I never experienced single person credited srk for this iconic. Many believe it’s the magic of yrf no doubt amir & Salman would have been better choice for this because no doubt it was a better product compared to HAHK but it was 10 cr less grosser compared to HAHK.
Kkhh – Again it was a masterpiece I believe for this amir would have been a better choice because it deserved to be the industry hit but it was less than 25 cr to HAHK. Why it wasn’t highest grosser of all time only due to presence of srk. But why the movie was a success no doubt direction & such a bulky starcast.
Mohabbatain – Rather than srk many believe Big-B was the xfactor for the success of this movie. But no doubt it was a masterpiece & it’s whole credit goes to yrf only
Devdas -like BM is a SLB film rather than ranveer film same story for devdas. Jackie shroff, Madhuri, Aishwarya wonderful supporting cast but whole credit goes to srk how it is possible undoubtedly it was a success due to SLB.
OSO- The only movie for which srk should be credited. With likes of Farah in direction, Deepika a debut actress undoubtedly the movie was completely a srk starrer & he deserves all the credit for this success
Again for Chennai express Deepika is the show stealer & rajnikant song truely right now 300 cr is impossible for him
