Best Mohit Chauhan Songs: Top 10

Mohit Chauhan created waves in Indipop music with ‘Dooba Dooba’ of Silk Route band way back in 1998. But even then, it took him 9 long years to wait for his mainstream Bollywood success with ‘Jab We Met’. Since then his unique ‘dard bhari aawaaz’ has been heard in many famous romantic ballads. He has become the most sought after singer today and the magic is expected to continue in the coming years as he has some very exciting projects in the pipeline.

Here goes the list mentioning the best of Mohit Chauhan

1) Tum Se Hi: Pritam gave the big ticket song to Mohit Chauhan from the movie ‘Jab We Met’. Chauhan further takes this beautiful composition to new heights with his alluringly captivating voice. Superb picturization on Shahid and Kareena brings in a cinematic quality to this song.

2) Jo Bhi Main: A R Rahman provided a complete album for Mohit Chauhan and he utilized this opportunity to the fullest. Chauhan rocked as Ranbir’s voice in each and every song. If I pick all the quality songs of ‘Rockstar’, this list would be more than half full with one album itself. My favorite amongst all is ‘Jo Bhi Main’ where Mohit shows his amazingly wide range of vocals.

3) Pee Loon: Mohit rendered vocals to this ever so romantic track for ‘Once Upon a Time In Mumbai’ that sweeps you right into the love that resides in its heart. Pritam intelligently mixes the class of the melody with the chartbuster tunes in this masterful composition which is soulfully crooned by Chauhan.

4) Pehli Baar Mohabbat: Mohit gave his heart and soul to this Vishal Bhardwaj composition from ‘Kaminey’. Gulzar showed his master-class with innovative lyrics like ‘humne gilheri ke jhoothe mutter khaaye the’. The song simply accentuates the feel of being in deep love.

5) Tujhe Bhula Diya: This tear jerking number from ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ is composed by Vishal-Shekhar and it grows magically on the listener. The track begins with impressive vocals by Shruti Pathak and gains momentum as Mohit Chauhan’s sonorously profound voice prospers in the backdrop of sublime Sufi qawalli overtones.

6) Ye Dooriyan: So simple and traditional, yet so melodious. Pritam and Mohit Chauhan came together again in 2009 for ‘Love Aaj Kal’ and created magic again. Chauhan does a wonderful job in rendering this track that only grows on you with more exposures.

7) Tune Jo Na Kaha: This romantic hummable number from ‘New York’ bears the stamp of Mohit Chauhan. His novel voice further elevates Pritam’s superb composition. This delightful track transforms the listener into a dreamland of love.

8) Ala Barfi: Mohit Chauhan and Pritam joined hands for the nth time to create the title song for the award winning movie ‘Barfi !’. Its peppy yet simple beats are a total delight, while the lyrics bring out the naughtiness of Ranbir’s character in the movie. Mohit Chauhan’s versatility in capturing every joyful emotion is simply spectacular.

9) Masakali: Well, Mohit Chauhan has rendered vocals to this A.R.Rahman’s superb composition from ‘Delhi 6’, as if he was born to sing this song. His evocative vocals seamlessly latch onto the acoustic rhythm, becoming one with the music itself.

10) Yun Hi: Mohit’s vocals mixed with newbie Krsna’s traditional arrangements and contemporary lyrics lift this track from ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ to a different level. Song starts with Mohit Chauhan humming around in his characteristic tone and it’s about a guy professing his love and expecting the girl to nod in agreement as well.

Other beautiful songs rendered by Mohit Chauhan are ‘Saiyaara’(Ek Tha Tiger), ’Kahin Na Laage Mann’(Kismet Konnection), ’Abhi Kuch Dino Se’(Dil To Bachcha Hai Ji), ‘Bheegi Si Bhaagi Si’(Raajneeti), ’Khwabon Ke Parindey’(Zindagi Naa Milegi Dobara), ’Saans’(Jab Tak Hai Jaan), ‘Phir Se Ud Chala’ and ‘Saada Haqq’ (Rockstar).
