Baby Advance Booking Update

A quick update on the advance booking of Akshay Kumar’s Baby, which is set to release in theatres in less than 9 hours from now.

Exhibitors have allotted a good number of shows, as there hasn’t been a multiplex-targeted film since the release of PK exactly a month ago. Both Tevar and Alone didn’t work at multiplexes, so with exhibitors expecting a good turn-out during the extended 4-day weekend, the film has received 10-11 shows on an average at 3-screen multiplexes.

Not many bother to book tickets in advance for films that release during non-festive weekends like Baby, but the advance booking is fairly decent at places. The pre-release reports are excellent too, especially on social media websites like Twitter and Facebook, which should boost the opening in cities to an extent.

Overall, Baby is set for a fair start tomorrow. If reports are good from the early morning shows, then the occupancy should pick up significantly later in the day.

Stay tuned to Indicine for Baby Box Office updates tomorrow.

    • in Kolkata baby set to rock as it will njoy 4 holidays in a row.tmrw is netaji birthday, sat is sarwasati puja and then sunday and republic day!!!plus baby is a class appealing film which always work in my city and akki films nvr underperform here

so baby set to rock Bengal

  • As per indicine and other reviews , Baby should be the first 200 cr movie of Aksahy and it deserved to enter into that club. If it won’t then it’s bad for Bollywood only. Frankly speaking, Akshay should take up more movies like Baby, S26 and Holiday. He has earned both money and fame, so he should stop signing multiple movies in a year just for sake of making money. Just few good scripts, and he can easily make a place in top 5.

    • @goutam:: 200crs for a non holiday film is really tough ..not tough but impossible..
Also BABY won’t open to earth shattering response, neither it has a massy content or popular music..Negligible promotions also.

200crs for a non holiday film is as difficult as 320crs for a festive released film.

    • 200 crores is too high. But trust me, I feel Baby might surpass RR to become Akshay’s biggest hit. Multiplexes work only on WOM. They can make a movie like Lunch Box, a clean hit and a multiplex oriented movie like Happy Ending can sink without a trace.

WOM will play a huge part for Baby.

    • Agreed with both of you. But what I meant to say , If Baby is getting 4.5 at indicine and many have given 5/5 too, then it should emerge as a winner in long run (Though I have not watched it yet and will catch it up on Republic Day but reviews already spoke a lot about the content) . I understand that 200cr+ is unlikely to be achieved, but as a movie lover, I want such movies to earn big time so that other makers/producers should also get that confidence that they can score big numbers on Box-Office even with non-masala and content oriented movies.
Hirani-Amir have proven it twice and the same I want from Neeraj-Akshay. Though I will give my final verdict afer watching it on 26th, but I personally feel that it should emerge as the highest grosser of Akki . Post that, Sky is the limit :)

  • Morning occupancy in multiplexes will be about60%-65%.and reviews are excellent so its evening show can come upto 90%-95% at multiplexes.
And on an average single screen might have 50%-60% occupancy.

So 1st day collection of BABY will be around 15 cr.

  • If Baby works then definitely it would help his future projects. He could give 3 100 crore + movies this year. Not sure about Singh is Bling.

  • BABY trailer crosses 6 million views on youtube with over 26k likes and only about 1.7k dislikes.
    B – BaBy
    B – Best
    B – BlockBuster

  • I think Baby will roar at the Box Office . I want this movie to not only collect money but also to get appreciation and win the hearts of audiences . Our country is also facing terrorist threats so it is the right time to watch Baby so that we can understand that our defence forces are always ready to protect and safeguard us . Baby will be a brilliant movie that’s for sure . Baaki apne ko kya lena dena hai . Jai Hind !!! Jai Bharat !!!!!!!!!

  • Akshay has an awesome year to look forward. Brothers wont fail like OUATIMD because Warriors was an acclaimed film. It is even in the Top 250 IMDB list. As for Baby, with such good reviews, I feel at least 120 crores are on.

    • Not only awesome year but Akki is constantly delivery great cinema in last 4 years with films like OMG-2012, SPL 26-2013,Holiday-2014, (not great but I loved the movie) and now Baby.
Let’s see Only Aamir and hrithik had given critical cinema with znmd, agnipath also well accepted.
      Aamir- Talaash,Pk.
Akshay is highly underated because on one hand he gives great cinema and other hand he followed them with k786,ouatimd,entertainment and main gabbar (looks that)

    • @sky

I dont understand the hatred towards dhobi ghat and talaash. To be very honest, I loved talaash. once in theatre, thrice on youtube. It was a beautifully layered story about lose and I remember people wiping their tears during the last scene where Aamir breaks down reading his son’s letters.

I didnt really enjoy Agneepath, but ZNMD was awesome! Same with OMG and Special 26. Holiday was a great entertainer. A bit over-the-top but Akki was quite good in holiday. The problem with Akki is, his exceptional films like S 26 and OMG get side-lined because of movies like K786, Boss, or even Entertainment.

I hope he breaks this with Baby and Brothers. He is one of my favorite actors along with Aamir and Hrithik but some of his films have been absolute disappointments. Still I am very much keen on Baby and Brothers.

    • @gj007 I too enjoyed Talaash very much, have seen in multiplex when released. It was a fantastic thriller though it climax was either appealed by some audience and rrejecbed by others.Talaash has great acting from actors and fantastic music too.
It was received well by critic but wom was mixed but media is now projecting it like box office failure.Haven’t seen Dhobhi Ghat.Though Aamir mean while also produced perpli live and Delhi belly both highly successful.
Akki is definitely making superb film now a days and I loved to see him doing this.Hope baby will be his highest or second highest grosser.

  • Yes,Actually I was surprised too seeing the advance booking in some of the cities on BMS..Hyderabad,Mumbai,Delhi NCR has decent advance for BABY.

    Hope it crosses 10crs tomorrow.

    • @gj007 Talaash is one of my fav. Aamir film..it is one of the best mystery thriller to be made here, was somewhat like DiCaprio’s Shutter Island(Great film,do watch if u have’nt)…India is not known for mystery thrillers but talaash n kahaani proved that we can make these films too…

  • 10 cr+ opening,today I have seen a promo of harsh reality of India.
Danny said that in India no need to create riots by outsider, fb,twitter alone able to do that. What a dialogue for harsh reality.Business is not a prospect for baby,we should appreciate great cinema.that’s all.
Yesterday my friend who is akki fan asked me that baby is releasing after 2 days still no promotion.
I replied him they are coming after special 26, what else they want to promote now.

  • I love the way we see subtle and smart promotions by the makers. When Pk was about to release they showed 3 idiots and Munna Bhai Mbbs on television. And now they are showing Special 26. Intelligent marketing!

    • With Baby Akki joins the list. Awesome actor-director pairs:

      Akki-Neeraj, Ajay-Rohit, Srk-Karan, Aamir-Raju, Hrithik-Rakesh, Salman-Sooraj, which is your favorite?

    • @gj007
      my fav jodi is nipun-kshitiz!!!
I just luv to watch their bromance and how they always stand up for each other

  • Baby is a must watch. . .Just came back from watchng it. . ..Akshay is on a roll. . . .Spellbound wid what i saw

  • Guys! I just got done watching Baby in UAE! Trust me its absolutely brilliant! Its got a few minor flaws here n there which were evident only coz I live here in UAE but otherwise this was excellent! Akshay kumar proves yet again after Holiday that though he is brilliant at comedy, he mind blowing when it comes to content+action. The first half is really short(about 1 hour) while the 2nd half stretched to about 90mins but considering it had a lot of nail biting moments.. It was worth the wait! Only one song is there in the movie which means there has no been no time wasted on forced romance which is great! If u wanna watch mindless masala movies.. Ignore it! If u wanna watch a movie which has a great content with great performances by akshay, danny sir, anupam sir, tapsee n the rest – watch it asap!! 4/5 atleast!

    • Whenever a big movie release pirated Megha aunt suddenly come to @indicine and start to write her golden lines……..welcome back auntiji.

  • This film surely looks amazing. The reviews coming in are by far the Best in recent times (feel it’s better than even PK, somewhere). Akshay should be hugely benefited after this masterpiece. Neeraj’s 3rd film should do wonders for Akshay, this surely deems to be akshay’s biggest grosser. Seeing it today evening. Fingers crossed. XOXO

  • in 2700 screens if 70% occupancy will retain all day then 19-20 crore day one collection is sure

  • @Indicine, pls post review of Baby.

Please make it simple and neat. Whether it is watchable or not.

Please do not preach us what is right, what is wrong, as we are only interested in the movie and we are not doing any research on movie making.

This is a humble request from me and moviegoers like me who can watch a movie for 3 long hour as far as it is entertaining and hit the right cord, whether masala, sugar coated romance, serious social message or just a fun ride.

I am reading the reviews, especially from the likes of Mihir Fadnavas of First Post who is talking as if she is spread out the movie on a table and dissecting it in every possible way and making us know how brilliant her knowledge in fault finding is and how she is oh so very intelligent being.

Please. Do not do such things, as we the audience know better than most of the numbskulled reviewers out there what is a good movie and what is a bad movie, cuz we know that it is after all a Movie.

    Awaiting anxiously.
    Yours truly,
