In 2012, the evergreen Khiladi of Bollywood returns to what he does best, Action! Akshay Kumar is set to rule the Box office in 2012 with 4 huge releases. And what’s more, all of them are locked for release barely a month apart from each other!
His first release of 2012 will be Housefull 2, a multi-starrer directed by Sajid Khan – that was initially supposed to release on June 1st – but will now release on April 5th 2012.
If Housefull 2 opens just before the IPL, Akki returns with Rowdy Rathore a week after the IPL on June 15 2012. The film directed by Prabhu ‘Wanted’ Deva stars Sonakshi Sinha as the female lead. He will be seen playing the role of twins, one being a thief and the other an IPS officer. Sounds interesting, doesn’t it?
His third is yet another biggie, that has Akshay step into the shoes of Emran Hashmi in Once Upon a Time in Mumbai 2, the sequel to the 2010 hit Once Upon a Time in Mumbai. The film directed by Milan Luthria also stars Kareena Kapoor, Illeana D’Cruz, Sonakshi Sinha and Shahid Kapoor! It is scheduled to release on August 16th 2012.
Akshay’s third and last release of 2012 will be Joker – once again with Sonakshi Sinha, his third with the Dabangg actress. The film is shot in 3D and has some kick-ass humor and lots of visual effects. It’s likely to release in September or October 2012. Most likely a Diwali release!
There you go. Three huge films for Akshay and only one of them is an out-an-out comedy! Should be a welcome change for his fans.
