Akshay Kumar is one of the highest paid actors in the industry today, and with the number of films that he signs per year, he earns in excess of Rs 100 cr through film assignments alone.
The actor has now gone one step further and charged Rs 40 crore for Rumi Jaffery’s upcoming film, the shooting of which will be completed in less than 3 weeks! You heard it right – if industry insiders are to be believed, the actor has been paid Rs 40 crore for a 3 week assignment.
The yet-to-be-titled film is a remake of Basu Chatterjee’s 1982 film Shaukeen which featured Ashok Kumar, Utpal Dutt, A.K. Hangal, Rati Agnihotri and Mithun Chakraborty.
A source close to the development says, Nargis Fakhri has been signed to play the female lead while veteran actors like Anupam Kher and Paresh Rawal have pivotal roles to play.
