PK has opened to packed houses across the country, but Aamir Khan was his usual down-to-earth self. In a group interview on Monday, the superstar said that he is yet to sign his next film after PK – which is rumoured to be director Nitesh Tiwari’s Dangal.
A couple of newspapers have gone ahead and confirmed the film, even though Aamir is yet to send a official statement announcing the film.
“I haven’t signed any film right now. I can tell you 30 more rumours about me doing some film. Right now, I am just reading scripts.” Aamir said.
When a journalist asked about his physique, which suggests that he is preparing to play the role of wrestler, Aamir smiled and said “The moment I sign something I will update you.”
The actor has also been rumoured to play the lead in Shankar’s Robot 2. However, he said that box office numbers would be the last thing on his mind while signing a film. It’s the script that would be most important.
“The moment I start choosing films that can do Rs 100 crore business, then my choice becomes very limited and I can only do films like Avengers or Spider-Man, which go on to achieve those numbers. This really kills creativity to an alarming extent, so I have always selected my films based on what I feel towards them” he said.
“Like Taare Zameen Par went on to do good business and I didn’t know it would. I just did it because I liked the script. Also, I selected Rang De Basanti because I loved the script. I did Lagaan when the entire film industry thought it was a disaster. So these films I have not picked looking at the box office collection, I picked them because I loved them. Later when they became box office hits, it was a different question. I do films if I like the script and not according to its business.” he added.

What a joke, then on what basis he signed Dhoom 3? What was the creaitivity in that ? In my opinion thats the worst movie from Aamir. That movie was made only for boxoffice numbers.

@bollyfan, @rohit and @yuvraj — aamir did Dhoom3 to show the freaks who are only obsessed with earnings of movies, no matter what crap the movie is offering. And he has shown that if he do that kind of chalu cinema then sky is the limit. ( 280 crore + india , $ 28 Million + Overseas, 500 crore + worldwide, In dollar term $88 Million worldwide). Enjoy the stats.

All the multi plexes are happy because last 2 month they were begging and praying for good movie and final Aamir came as “Alliens” like “Yeshu Christ” and poured lots of joy in their kitty.

Walking Tall was good, but too bad DOOM was so poorly structured: The Rock and Karl City, and they still could not make it work.
This is where I hate him. No doubt he is a great actor and I love watching his movies. But I said before, I’ll say again he is self-obsessed. He speaks in that way as though he is the only saint in Bollywood. “First I read the script, then I sign the movie. I don’t go behind numbers”.
What was that?? Indirectly you are taking dig on others that they sign a movie keeping collections into their mind plus you are contradicting your own decisions.
What sort of creativity and uniqueness was there in Ghajini?? In fact that was a south remake and not a fresh script. Why did you sign that?? And be thankful that Ghajini gave you and the industry, first 100 Cr movie.
Moreover, if we follow your logic then you should not have signed Dhoom 3 as well, as Dhoom 3 was your weakest selection in recent years. Again, no need to say that Dhoom 3 gave you and industry, the highest grosser of all time.
So Amir sir, kindly stop twisting the facts. You are a gem of acting and you don’t have to prove that again and again by giving such foolish contradictory statements!

he has ever heard! just for the fact that dhoom series is not know for it’s
content and if he will call it one of best scripts he has heard, then people
will expect some content and will watch it! but it’s not his problem, because

Funny how the haterz are slagging of Dhoom 3 as Aamirs weakest performance in recent times or as a money making venture when facts are people loved Aamirs performance in a supposedly poor script enough to watch it more than any other movie in recent times…. The script was always going to be a Dhoom script showcasing the uselessness/ talentless of Uday n Abhishek but Samar and Sahirs character portrayals by Aamir was the usp of the movie hence it didnt crash after initial weekend or first week like so many other big movies do/ did. Haterz just jealous that when Aamir does a masala/ action movie then end results are a Ghajini or Dhoom 3 whereas their heroes masala / action movies end up being Ratoon Point One or Bong Bong etc etc…
Aamirs Dhoom 3 is still the film to beat which will only be beaten by a classy film of Aamirs ie PK- everyone else including our king tried masala movies to beat 3 idiots for 4 yrs until one hit the jackpot- thats the power of Aamir….!
