Madhushala reworked by for Abhi-Ash wedding

Lets call it a special gift from the late Dr Harivansh Rai Bachchan to the couples Ash and Abhi. From Grandpa, with love

?Madhushala,? ? the poem that immortalised the persona of Dr Harivansh Rai Bachchan ? has been rewritten by a poet in this holy city to mark the big ticket marriage of Dr Bachchan?s grandson Abhishek with doe-eyed beauty Aishwarya Rai.

Rechristened ?Preet ki Madhushala,? the Madhushala rewritten by publisher-cum-poet Rajkumar Kejriwal (60) reads ?Dada Harivansh ne bheji potay ko ashirvad ki haala ?. potay ne pi li dada ki bheji huyi yeh madhushala.? ?Dr Bachchan?s eternal creation has been rewritten only to usher the blessings of this holy city on the marriage of the legendary poet?s grand son and Aishwarya Rai. It is a creative prayer of all Banarasis to render the cup of eternal romance to AbhiAsh,? said Mr Kejriwal.

The poem further reads ?Pita Amitabh Pila Rahe sabko bete ki shaadi ka pyala?saari duniya pi rahi doordarshan par hai madhushala.? It also includes references to all well-wishers of Bachchan family, ?bhai sarikhe Anil Aambani aur Amar Singh ke saath Big B ho aaye Tirupati Bala aur le aaye Tirupati ke charano se ashirvad ki madhushala? It goes on to add ?Bahu ke roop mein ghar aayegi Ash rupi vishwa sundari bala jiske kajrare naino mein choopi hai Abhishek roopi madhushala.? The reoriented six stanza ?Madhushala? concludes with ?Bachchan parivar ko saare deshwasi pila rahe shubhkamanaon ka pyala aur masti se pi rahe Abhishek-Ash ki preet ki madhushala.? Interestingly, Mr Kejriwal has rescripted Dr Bachchan?s famous creation for the second time. After the legendary poet?s demise in January 2003, Mr Kejriwal had rewritten the poem to symbolise tearful farewell by the same poem to its author on the passage to heaven.

The poem which started with ?Haath rahega hari ka sir par saath rahegi madhushala? further read ?Madhushala se chala gaya madhushala likhne wala, rachnakar ko yaad karegi uski hi ab madhushala.? The peom ended ?Harivansh gaye hari ke aangan pine hari ka hala, haath rahega hari ke sir par saath rahegi madhushala.? The poem was handed over to Big B Amitabh Bachchan by Mr Kejriwal, when the superstar came here on January 24, 2003 to immerse the ashes of his father in Ganga river. After returning to Mumbai, the Bachchan family reciprocated by sending a memorable thanks card bearing the autographs by both Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan to Mr Kejriwal.

Mr Kejwriwal who also heads a literary body ?Kashi Kavya Kalash? in the city has also rewritten famous number ?Mere Angane Mein? sung by the Big B in ?Lawaris.? The reoriented song starts with ?Jalsa mere bete ki shaadi ka aaj hai? kal se hoga ghar mein bahu ka ab raaj hai? and culminates with ?Saath is jalse main desh ki aawaz hai ? baj raha aangan mein madhur saaz hai.? Mr Kejriwal has also rendered the poetic translation of ?Bhagvad Gita? titled ?Gita Kavya Madhurya? which was released by President A P J Abdul Kalam in New Delhi on March 23.

He also has under his belt many other collection of poems including ?Jeevan Ek Geet Hai Agar Gungunana Seekh Lo? in 1987, ?Komal Si Zindagi Kitni Kathor Hai? (1988), ?Jeevan Ko Gulab Ki Sugandh Bana Lo? (1989) and ?Char Panktiyon Ki Kavita Hai Zindagi? (2006), which starts with Madhushala rewritten in the memory of Dr Bachchan in 2003.
